There's nothing fancy about Scream's setup: three chairs and a hair extension station, a few racks of hip hair products and the requisite Capitol Hill leather-and-studs bracelets. The candy colors available for hair enhancement range from Cupcake Pink to Limelight. For those who can't bear to taint their God-given locks, a hair extensions specialist is on hand to embellish with ersatz tresses.

My kids and I have had Nikki P as our stylist/colorist here for 4 years, now! We will not consider having anyone else touch our hair...Nikki is totally talented. An artist. She listens, makes recommendations, and we ALWAYS leave amazed and happy. Everyone at the salon is kind, helpful, and very accommodating. Especially Violet, the receptionist. My son is now 16, and drives himself to have Nikki cut his hair. He tried other stylists closer to our home, but will no longer take that chance. My little girl is now 11. Nikki has cut and colored her hair in many amazing and beautiful ways appropriate for a young girl living in the 'burbs'. Tonight, she added auburn highlights to my daughters' dark brown hair, and it is so beautiful! We can't stop raving (as usual)! As for me: middle aged suburban mom with foiled blond highlights and a perfect cut. All for a fraction of the price I'd have to pay in Mercer Island (where we live). Nikki is a gem. She is ALWAYS spot-on in creating styles and colors that I have had to pay HUNDREDS more for in my neighborhood. Nikki, Nikki, Nikki. I want to adopt this amazing girl. I've been looking for a new stylist for months and happened in on the suggestion of a friend. Kelly saw me right away, worked with the style I was going for and offered ideas for products. I usually don't like it when stylists discuss products with me cause it totally feels like they are trying to upsale me. But Kelly was professional and offered ideas based on what I needed. I came out looking great and have decided to call Scream my new home. Prices are reasonable and the peeps are fun.

I've been going to scream for 3 years now. The whole time, i've gotten my hairs did by the manager and she has always, and still does, an awesome job!! She's always been eager to offer suggestions, and get suggestions from the other rad girls (and one cute cute boy) that work their. She is experienced, qualified, and damn good at what she does!! She stuck to her guns, when i went a good 4 months trying to talk her into transforming my 13 years of colored black hair into platinum hair. She knew that it wouldn't work with out frying my hair to bits. This place is an awesome salon. Are the people are amazing, and it's just a fun place to go. These girls (and the cute cute boy) are all amazing workers. I've spent many an hour under the dryer watching them work their magic! I've gone from Black, to PInk, To Black and Blue, to natural fall colors to black with light pink, and FINALLY to platinum. And i'll start all over again, someday. And scream, will always be the place i go!
