The Scene
Eva manages what most neighborhood restaurants aspire to be: A spot for dressed-down locals to come and enjoy an elegant, affordable meal. Dried grape vines snake along the ceiling with twinkling Christmas lights while the dark wooden furniture and wine bar lend a rustic feel. The staff is warm and unobtrusive; the meal pace is lazy, inviting lingering over appetizers, dessert or glasses of wine from their first-rate wine list.

The Food
Best described as Mediterranean-influenced, the menu changes seasonally and is separated into "Firsts" and "Seconds." The Cabrales (Spanish blue cheese) flan is the "Firsts" champ, a creamy, complex mouthful; "Aunt Voula's Taramasalata" is more toothsome than the pulverized Greek variety. The "Seconds" change frequently, but the oh-so-tender sherry-braised rabbit with chorizo bread pudding is a must-order if it's there. Desserts, made by local celeb pastry chef Dana Bickford, are uniformly stellar and imaginative.

We love this place. The food is interesting, the atmosphere is great, and the people are always friendly and professional. A hole in the wall in a small neighborhood business area, but well worth the time.

this restaurant is nearby and it never disappoints. sometimes it can be quite busy, but you can get the full menu at the tables in the bar. I love the wine, and the champagne cocktails. Also, you MUST get the desserts.

I went to Eva's on a 5th date. We had a great time. The ambience is nice, low lights and grape vines. We arrived on a Wednesday night kinda early, and were glad to see it was not dead nor crowded. The server was nice , not snobby. The Food! It's really good! We had an a starter of pureed vegetable and pita, that was really delicious & full of flavor. For the main dish we had the Fresh tuna noodle dish, and I had the chick pea curry. Both were really good. And of coarse the wine selection is diverse.. A range of prices there. As for overall price we paid $60 with out tip, for one starter ,3 glasses of wine , and two entrees. When I go out my check list is: #1 atmosphere, then service and then great fresh food. Out of the three the food stands out as the star. Eva's Restaurant & Wine Bar is top notch for what I look for in a intimate spot. 5 Stars!
