Editorial Review for Downtown Shopping District – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Every shopping personality is welcome, from kids looking for bargains at Urban Outfitters and Niketown to the fashion forward at Mario's, Butch Blum and David Lawrence. Big chains are present (Macy's, Banana Republic and Nordstrom), but boutiques such as Alhambra and John Fluevog give them a run for their money. Four major malls--Pacific Place, Rainier Square, City Centre and Westlake Center--are the top destinations for this area.

When to GoWeekdays are busy, but the pavement is really packed on weekends with consumers scooping up cheap clothes at Old Navy or the latest trends at the boutiques.

There's a lot of different shops to choose from here. There are higher end stores, moderately priced stores, and also budget shops. There are a lot of people shopping, especially during the weekends and holidays..but that is to be expensive. It is a lot easier to get around by taking public transportation because finding parking and traffic can be annoying. The only not so great aspects of downtown shopping are that the shopping is mostly outdoors (like most downtown shopping), a few of the stores are spread out, and it's not too fun going from shop to shop in the rain.
Pros: Good shopping
Cons: shopping when its raining or during bad weather

If you like to shop go to the downtown district. It has everything you want, in a hip setting, with views of the puget sound.
Pros: Many shops, Many restaurants, Many views
Cons: Small in size
