GREAT SERVICE-THE BARTENDER IS GREAT! SHE MADE THE WAIT GO BY FAST!.
THE FOOD AND SERVICE AT JAKS IS GREAT! THE ONLY THING THAT RUINS THE NIGHT IS LISTENING TO THE TALL CHEF WITH THE CELL PHONE IN HIS EAR YELLING AT THE SERVERS! FOR THE PRICES THEY ASK AT JAKS IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE CHEF WOULD BE A LITTLE MORE WILLING TO MAKE SPECIAL REQUESTS. ( MY WIFE IS A LITTLE FUSSY). HE JUST MAKES THE PLACE LESS COMFORTABLE THAN IT SHOULD BE. WHEN HE GOES...WE WILL BE BACK!
THANK YOU TO OUR SERVER FOR ALL SHE DOES TO MAKE PEOPLE AT HOME WHILE AT JAKS! GREAT SERVER!
all good except that tall dude. I had a wonderful dinner the other night. Sat at the bar with a couple friends. Had the pork medallions. The bartender was cool, i think her name is Leslie. The only thing i found weird was the open kitchen. Where i am into the open kitchen as an idea i was distracted by the tall chef with the ear piece yelling alot. Why so angry dude. Other than that is was awesome...i know it's a steak house but try the pork medallions. Yum.
very good steak, and good wine selection. food is good, i love their beef steak. Their wine is excellent but very expensive.it is a good place to bring your date to and service is excellent
Even brunch is great!!.
My husband and I have only recently moved to the West Seattle neighborhood and one of the first places we were told to go was Jak's. We loved our dinner experience, both getting fab steaks, wine and dessert for less than what we would spend on drinks and appetizers downtown... when we were there we were told about the newly started brunch so we decided to check it out. We were both very impressed... my husband had a fillet & Bearnaise Benedict on those potato cakes they are know for and i had the biscuits and gravy- yummy! Our lively yet attentive curly haired server really took good care of us, making sure our couple buck bloody mary's
were never empty:) we both will be going back to for both the food and the service.
Best Hamburger Ok Steaks. Great Service, Long waits on busy nights, no reservations. The hamburgers are excellent. They need a good IPA on tap.
Finally Real Service to Go with the Real Food..... check this out!. We go out all the time..... I dont care what a place has on the menu . Most times I get whats good there anyway. I Hate Bad service! Who dosen't?! Well I was up in the air about Jaks in west seattle . I now have a favorite! Jaks!! --- So after the same great steak I've had so many time s , My food was on time and I loved our server! Her name was Annie! We had just the best "upgrade experience" I say that because there was a problem with my wife s wine -problem solved, before it started. she exchanged our glass and left both a great wine and, taste in our mouths! I fyou Ever get the chance , look for a gal with brown?red hair chin lenghth. Our favorite server there! thanks !
Great Atmosphere and Food!. I have been in about 4 times, everytime i get seated very fast. Even when it's busy! The Chefs have really got the cooking of the food down to an art. The only thing I dont like is the salad Dressing. Small complaint it is very lacking in taste. But, Steaks are always cooked to perfection.....Will recommend and be back!!
JaKs Remains Best in Town.
Interesting. My wife and I went out on a date night from the kids and had a great meal and overall experience at JaKs (W. Seattle) as anticipated. Upon coming to the CitySearch site to post my compliments to the JaKs family, I found it very interesting about a couple of the reviews from others who felt their experience was sub par. In one case, a person and his wife went out to dinner at a time when the kitchen would be closing and yet feel their service was not satisfactory? From what I understand, JaKs was formed with the objective of being a neighborhood place where every guest is treated equally and are exposed to a meal and atmosphere all with a value that is easily the best in town. I am continually impressed that while JaKs continues to expand its menu, offer more creative specials, and now operating 3 locations that their food, service and value is STILL the best.. Maybe these posers who want the world to stop at their feet can go downtown and rub noses with the other big timers and leave our our secret (JaKs) to those of us who appreciate it.
I recommend this to anyone - any time!
We will NEVER go back. My wife and I have been going to Jak's for several years now. In the past the service has always been great - we were greeted with a smile, most everyone knew our name and/or order, and the food was not just a great value but always cooked to perfection. In the past year or so this place has gone down hill quickly. Not only has the old familiar staff been replaced by a group that is rude and incompetent, but the food is inconsistent and the prices have all but doubled. We recently decided to give Jak's one last chance and went in a few days ago for our anniversary. Granted we arrived a bit later in the evening, but we still had to wait and we were completely ignored by the bartender. When we finally were seated our server seemed to be rushing us to order and we barely got a chance to review the menu or specials for all the recent changes. Our food then came out so quickly we were not done with our salads when the steaks arrived at the table. We quickly discovered that our steaks were severely undercooked, but were told the kitchen was closed for the evening when we asked that they be sent back and cooked as we asked. In disgust we decided to box our food and take it home to try and fix it ourselves. When I went to get the car, I came back to discover the door had been locked with my wife still inside! I knocked for several minutes until the manager finally came and let me in. She apologized profusely but the apology was clouded over by the fact that she had clearly been drinking and really was nothing more than obnoxious. I have no idea what happened to this once quaint neighborhood staple! After a recent dining experience to another local steak house, we have decided it's worth the drive and money to get the quality and service that we USED to get at Jak's.
GREAT NIGHT RUINED BY RUDE SERVER. My wife and I have been to Jak's before, but I am not sure we will ever go again. We went last weekend and had the worst, most inattentive, service ever. Our server Christina kept disappearing and we had to go downstairs to locate her TWICE! The first time the bartender helped us and the second time the hostess found our check, and get this our server WAS SITTING DOWN TALKING THE WHOLE TIME! The food was great, and the service is usally good here, but not this night. After all this she was pretty rude ABOUT THE FACT WE ASKED THE HOSTESS FOR OUR CHECK! WE won't be going back for awhile.
