Pinback Editorial Review
In Short
This San Diego group first garnered attention from trainspotters impressed by the indie-rock pedigrees of principals Armistead Burwell Smith IV and Robert Crow--who got their starts in 3 Mile Pilot and Thingy, respectively. But it was the band's tunes that held audiences captive. The 2001 album, "Blue Screen Life," was recorded in the band's home studio and released by New Jersey label Ace Fu. In 2004, they released "Summer in Abaddon" (Touch & Go).

Pinback
Pinback is an off shoot band of Three Mile Pilot which broke up and spawn two new bands, Black Heart Procession and Pinback. I saw them play live for the first time in San Diego (the bands hometown) last winter and they blew me away. I'd been listening to their music a while and love both the lp This blue screen life, and the ep Off Cell, but seeing them live deepend my respcet for them all the more.
