What People Are Saying About DCS Grill

The Scene – Across from a plastic surgeon's office and interiors store, Bourgeoisie, D.C.'s location is no mistake: This restaurant caters to couples driving luxury SUVs. The dining room is filled with dark booths and conversational din. In an attempt to downplay the Consolidated Restaurants chain connection, historical photographs of this once densely wooded area adorn the walls of the waiting corridor. – – The Food – Reasonably priced, dry-aged steaks are a solid bet, consistently cooked to order and partnered with creamy mashers and a seasonal vegetables. Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- Be sure to check out the beach-themed bathrooms. They provide a humorous reminder of the previous tenant, the defunct Coconut Beach Grill.
- Where to Sit:
- On sunny days, call ahead and reserve a table on the patio: It's always packed.
- Save Money:
- Just like at the Met, D.C.'s has a good happy hour. Cocktails are $1 off from 4:30pm-6pm, and mini pulled-pork sandwiches are two for $1.

Excellent food & service
by bookrep at Citysearch
My family has eaten at D.C.'s several times a year since it opened. We have seen no decline in the quality or quantity of the food or service. Our only regret is that the formerly delicious sliced bread has been replaced by ordinary rolls. Since the remodel, we have seen an increase in the sound level but that is on a par with other popular & crowded restaurants. The steaks and other selections of entrees have always been prepared to our tastes, from rare to well done. The service has been attentive and prompt (ice tea refills without asking, coffee cups never empty). I love the Mac & Cheese, steak salad and steaks.
- Pros: Free parking, reservations honored on time, service, food
- Cons: Noise level sometimes
Steakhouse that can't prepare steak
by salmon42 at Citysearch
After looking at the Overpriced wine list we decided to order 2 mojitos. Our drinks arrived and both tasted as though no alcohol had been added, all either of us could taste was club soda and mint. Then we ordered steaks and both steaks were to be medium. We had to repeat ourselves several times to be heard by the waiter. The waiter was so curt and undertrained he failed to introduce himself or ask if we wanted any steak sauce in an establishment that calls itself a "Grill". My steak was very rare when it arrived. I have ordered steak before in other establishments and Medium is generally defined as pink in the center. My boyfriend's steak was so heavily salted he could not taste anything else. My boyfriend flagged down a waiter and I showed him my steak and he took it to be re-cooked. The waiter came to out , placed my plate on the table and walked away. The plate was hot and there was more gravy on the steak and upon cutting into it again, it was still raw and bloody. A waiter was flagged down again and my steak was taken back again. It came back a few minutes later, this time the waiter stayed until I cut into the steak and it was still red and bloody throughout. He asked if I wanted it re-heated again but by this time my boyfriend was finished eating and I was fustrated so I said no. The waiter offered to comp the steak and then left. Upon leaving, the woman working at the front asked us how our meal was and we both told her about the steaks, her response: We have been busier than normal tonight and maybe the kitchen was a bit overwelmed. She invited us to come back. We won't. We have had better service and food at Applebee's.
- Pros: Warm dinner rolls
- Cons: Loud, bad service, bad steaks
Not the old DC Grill, this place has really gone downhill
by geneMT at Citysearch
The editorial review is very old and now mostly wrong. The beach theme restrooms are long gone and with the remodel and new decor the service and food got much worse. Don't waste your time on this place, there are much better choices in the area.
- Pros: it is on the plateau
- Cons: noisy, tables too crowded, expensive and the food isn't very good. Reservations don't seem to matter
Brunch is better than dinner
by sammykat at Citysearch
Everytime my husband & I have dined at DC's, the service has been marginal at best. Once we arrived after normal dinner hours (I think it was around 9 pm) and the hostess actually made this dramatic movement to look at her watch before seating us (she also looked annoyed that we had interrupted her conversation with one of the servers). Once we were seated we were basically ignored for many minutes. We've had better luck at brunch, when you are not so dependent on the service and you can help yourself to the buffet. I have no complaints about the food. One reviewer said it was like Sizzler -- I think it's better than that and comparable to Coho Cafe. The management has been friendly -- the staff just needs some customer service training!
