Seattle >Beehive Salon
Not so great anymore.... I've been going to the Beehive for years, but now the calibur of service has declined so much that i'm moving on. After my old stylist moved out of the area, I tried someone else. They were fine, but didn't have that "wow" factor and thus seemed a little overpriced. I then tried one of the less expensive stylists and got the worst haircut of my life. Jaley (i'm not sure how she spells her name) spent all of 15 minutes cutting my hair and it was uneven. I would have been better off going to the barbershop and would have saved $20. It's unfortunate that such a cute place can't deliver the way they used to.
Don't go here for color.. This salon is probably fine for a haircut but my highlights came out very uneven. I tried to get the color corrected here but had to go to another salon for help.
Nice Experience. I got a haircut and brow wax, and both came out very nicely. The stylists listened to what I wanted, and the whole Aveda experience is wonderful. My only complaint is that they did not tell me on the phone that they had booked me with one of the more expensive stylists, so it cost a bit more than I had expected, but all in all it was good.
The name says it all: A busy, bustling neighborhood salon with a vintage hipster vibe..
Warm red walls, shiny blond floors and open ductwork on the ceiling give this Greenlake salon a vibrant, youth-oriented ambience. Staff is friendly, but occasionally distracted by the buzz of talkative clientele and brisk pace of walk-in customers picking up Aveda products. Treatment rooms offer some escape, but you can still hear much of the activity from the salon and front desk.
Aestheticians are efficient, which can be nice if you're in a hurry, but a bit off-putting if you're hoping for a relaxed pampering session. Their exclusive use of Aveda products means whoever is providing your treatment is well-educated about what products they are using, but there's usually no heavy sales pressure. Detoxifying body treatments are very popular and deep discounts make the combination spa packages especially good bargains.
Body treatments, wet treatments, facials, hair removal, sunless tanning, manicure/pedicure, full-service salon, makeup application.
My Favorite!. I've been going to Shannon for years, and even though I now live in Tacoma, I still the make the trip up to Seattle to get my hair done. The staff is friendly and the salon has a great atmosphere. I always feel better when I walk out of Beehive (and I love the pedicures). Thanks Shannon!
Wonderful little find!.
One of the best things about Beehive is that it is tucked away in only recently discovered (by the Seattle majority) in Tangletown, and it feels like you have found a secret oasis!
I went for the urban tan before our engagement party, and it was a great experience! Having never been to a spa before and never having any sort of spa treatment, I was a little apprehensive as to what I would think about it.
Their treatmeant room is so calming and comfortable, and the place itself has a great busy vibe with a VERY friendly cheerful staff. I need an excuse to go back!
Best yet. I went to the Beehive to have some waxing done and was a little apprehensive because I am a guy and a little self-concious. Michele did it very fast and relatively pain free and i had no bumps afterwards like I have had in the past. To top it all off she was hot!!!
I love my hair!. I have been going to Beehive Salon since they opened a few years ago. I love the way Shannon cuts and colors my hair, and I see Michele for facials and brow waxing. I love the salon- it is cozy and friendly. I always feel welcomed and valued as a customer!
the best. i have been to this salon twice now for facials/waxing and both times have had the best experience. i recently was given a gift certificate to a very expensive spa downtown and it didn't even come close to the experience i have had at the beehive. i have not had my hair done here but i am sure they do a good job as well because the staff all look so good!
Dull and uninspiring hair color.... ...and not what I asked for - which took an HOUR longer than my normal colorist. This is the first time in my life I've ever walked out of a salon almost in tears. It cost me about $200 to have another salon fix the awful color. Disappointed because otherwise the salon is nice and friendly, but not up to par with some of the other Aveda salons I've used.
