Editorial Review for Lynn's Bistro – by Renae Martin

The Scene
White linens, pale-green walls, jazz and a fountain's soothing sounds create a peaceful oasis that's perfect for dates or quiet dinners with friends. Art deco prints on the walls and whimsically mismatched place settings keep the place from feeling too upscale. Servers are attentive and slightly formal. Chef My Linh Tran maintains high visibility, frequently circling the diners.

The Food
Simple bistro fare--lamb, filet mignon, seafood and pasta--is elevated in Tran's expert hands, often infused with Asian accents. Worthy starters include the house salad, which features carrots, honeyed walnuts and pomegranate tossed in Asian pesto vinaigrette. Or try the meaty Dungeness crab cakes, served in a pool of lobster butter sauce with refreshing papaya and corn salsa. Entrees--such as a tender rack of lamb or delicious steamed sea bass with cream sauce--are also quite good.

I live in Kirkland and I was looking for a new and interesting place to take my mom for her 49th Birthday. I wasn't so sure what to expect from the place because there were many different reviews on this Bistro, but as soon as we walked in I could tell that we were going to love the place. The service was great all night and the food was truly amazing and yes in worth every penny (seriously I’m not exaggerating). The whole experience was mind blowing but one thing that touch all of us the most was that Lynn but our desert order on the house since it was mom mom’s birthday. That gesture was so human and so generous; we were all moved. (I have to say not because we didn’t pay for it, but to see that true service and understanding still exist.) Now, we are counting down for the next event to go there and treat ourselves to another wonderful evening once again.

Pros: Great food, Great service

Cons: Parking

The service was attentive and the food quality great. The pate went very well with the bread and salad where the dressing and taste blends superbly. Glad that I tried the pate. The lamb was done exactly as specified, and had just the right taste. The potatoes and vegetables were also cooked to the right degree and all the tastes combine to make a great dish. I wish I had room for dessert, but I was simply too full. I would definitely go back and again, and this time try their dessert.

Pros: Food, Service.

Cons: None
