BAD Service, but shop could be the best. I love this place, it's location and menu, but I only visit about once every six months or so. The counter help hates to see a customer come through the door. I'm sure the only people they treat with anything above disgust are their own friends and family members.

Starbucks is pretty dull, but at least they act like they appreciate my business; their shop is full of homeless men in the morning, and they still make me feel welcome.

I can't imagine what makes working at Cherry Street so horrible.

Great coffee, bad service. I hate to say it, but I'll have to agree with the other reviewer on here about Cherry Street's service being pretty bad. It's a shame because their coffee is amazing. I work nearby and stop in all the time, was going every morning for a while. There are a couple of people who can be a little bit nice once in a while, but more often than not i leave there feeling like i rudely interrupted them by buying coffee. I hate that.

Frontier Cafe up the street has great coffee (AMAZING mochas!!), pastries that don't have flies on them (not kidding, sorry guys), and VERY nice people who remembered my drink after about the third time i went in there. Definitely a MUCH better way to start my morning.

Oh, Seattle's Best does have very good service, but FC's coffee is better.

This is what happens when your barrista is stoned.. Why do I keep going to this place? The coffee is often lukewarm, but I'd put up with that if the people behind the counter would get my order right. Just once. Today I ordered a bagel, waited for 10 minutes then came back to see where it was -- they'd given it to another customer. The last three times I've been there I've had to remind the staff that I'd ordered food. And then, ack, went to the office and opened up the bag to find something quite different from what I'd paid for. Not just once - mind you. When I ask for better service I get a glare.

The women, particularly, seem uninterested in being helpful. I've tried tipping higher -- maybe that's the key? Nope, still same awful service. No wonder I keep finding myself at Seattle's Best where the staff seem much less stoned from last night's party.

Providing electric juice to Pioneer Square.. In Short
Early mornings find business men with the WSJ tucked under one arm line up behind sleepwalking artists. Mid-morning, the unemployed dot-comers forgo the paper cup and read the morning away. Grab a pillow and slide into a window booth for prime First Ave voyeurism, or head downstairs and huddle with a laptop in an unnoticed corner. Bagels, pastries, soups and tasty sandwiches pair well with the java.

The best. Period.. This is the best coffee shop Downtown. No exceptions. I'm there every day and so are they: smiling, professional, chatty, friendly...remembering customers' names and drinks...can't say a bad word about 'em. As often as not the owner is there: eager to help make you happy. You'll enjoy your visit.
