Save airfare to Kyoto!. This unpretentious restaurant belies the high-quality and authentic Japanese food served up by chef/owner Ken Yamamoto. His Kyoto-style cuisine (Kyo-ryori) features both immaculately prepared sushi and seasonal dishes from the kitchen that are the best this side of the Pacific.

Sit at the cherry wood counter and order your favorite sushi, or let the affable chef guide you through the best selections. (Ask Whats in season? You wont be disappointed.)

As good as the sushi is, dont neglect the dishes from the kitchen. (The chalkboard will give you a clue most of the dishes are regional specialties that the initiated will crave, and the adventurous diner will delight in.)

Ken is the only chef in the northwest licensed to prepare and serve the notorious and sublime fugu (Puffer fish, available in winter.)

Shiki is a favorite of transplanted Japanese, including a baseball player or two.

SUSHI !!. Compartively, the best Sushi restaurant in town. Just at the bottom of Queen Anne Hill.
