Health Risk to eat here. Just wanted to let you all know that “Malay Satay Hut” one of our favorite restaurant has been written off our list.

We went there last night (probably for the 15th time) and I had very nasty experiences with my food. First ordered the vegetarian tofu curry and a third through my meal, found prawn shells in my food. Sent that back and thought it an innocent mistake and ordered a yellow curry tofu soup…………….found hair in my soup, and then worse still, bugs stuck to my noodles (found 2). It was clear that they were on the dry noodles and became stuck to the noodle when it was boiled. I was disgusted, the manager came running………..apologized profusely and said he was travelling for many months and doesn’t know what’s been going on and will have a staff meeting that same night. I was feeling awful for the rest of the night………he did not charge for the kids meals and my husband's (obviously to try and keep me happy) ……………..how sad that this happened at a place that used to serve delicious and quality meals. Must say the tell tale signs were there on my last 2 visits as well.

Not Good. I am a Malaysian, born and raised. I lived on the East Coast and have been to many Malaysian restaurants and this is the worst.

The first time we went, we ordered dry beef curry and just liked the name, the beef was so dried, like cardboard and we got about 6-7 pieces of 1" cube and cost $17! The Kangung Belacan was okay. We decided to go back to try the noodles, it was greasy, not even closed to what it is supposed to be like. It is not REAL Malaysian food.

I prefer to cook at home. I think this restaurant is good but I still prefer to get the ingredients on-line and cook it myself. The site that has everything is www.asiansupermarket365

Beware - Opportunistic Stale food. Beware of stale food. I had a lamb dish once I found it to be too stale (rubbery texture and weird smell). I thought its just me and had it, but I had a terrible stomach pain afterwards. I decided not to eat from there anymore and kept away from the place for many months (6+). Just today I went there, too tempted by the Indian roti canai, and got some Pinapple fried rice to go with it. I have the same stale taste on the chicken in it. It literally stinks.

My advice - if you are going there and having a dish, make sure you try to clean the meat/chicken pieces off any strong gravy and eat it by itself. You are most probably gonna get the weird taste. If so, don't eat it. Most of the times you don't realize the bad taste due to the gravy.

I'll miss the roti canai, but I am done with Malay Satay Hut.

Good food, Okay service!!!. The roti canai is one appetizer that we always order at Malay Satay hut.. This place is a good choice, if you like spicy asian/south asian food. Overall, the food is good. The service is okay. All dishes in a single order have never come together, in fact they come really far apart. Overall, I would recommended this place

Don't Order Anything from the Bar..... Good tasty food--but overpriced! Establishment itself was a bit dirty when we last visited. There was some "dirty, wet dog" smell emanating from somewhere, but we couldn't figure it out. Also, when I ordered a Pina Colada from their bar, it virtually had no alcohol and I am a lightweight, so I would've noticed if there was even a reasonable amount in it.

Poor Service. My wife and I have been to this restaurant before, although the first time was fairly near the time they originally opened. This time was a Saturday night and when we first pulled up, we were hesitant to go in because there was a large group of people standing inside the front door and it looked like a long wait. My wife went in to check anyway and fortunately it was only one large group of six waiting for a table to clear.

We were seated promptly at a table for two near the bar and given menus by the hostess. We decided on what we wanted fairly quickly and waited for our waitperson. And we waited. And we waited. Twenty minutes later we assumed it was our waitperson that took our order. I requested we receive our soup as an appetizer and our two plates as entrees. (I looked over my wife's shoulder and there sat the large group of six that was still waiting for their table when we first arrived -- sitting there eating their meal.)

Looking around the restaurant, I couldn't figure out why it took so long to be waited on. They were busy but there were empty tables.

After about 15 minutes, one of our entrees came, delivered by a different waitperson. Getting hungry, we didn't say anything, happy to receive anything we could get. Fifteen minutes later, the soup came. By the time we were just about done with both, the last entree came -- all of this delivered by a different waitperson each time.

In all fairness, the food was wonderful. But it was like the staff was just going through the motions and I've never felt so invisible in a restaurant before. It ruined our Saturday night. (By the time we got our check, the table of six was long gone.) I thought it was generous to leave a 10% tip -- I hadn't done that in years!

inconsistent on quality, consisent on rudeness. OMG--only in France, have I been so ignored by the wait staff. You would think I appeared to have all the time in the world. The food is inconsistent, I find that when I'm with an indian friend they are much nicer and the food MUCH BETTER. So, I am wearing my indian shirt and fake tan lotion to ensure my experience tonight will be better.Wish me luck!!!

good food but.... Very good food, but the staff is not very friendly if you're black. If you are black, don't hesitate to go there. But also don't hesistate to call them out when they put you near the bathroom, throw your chopsticks on the table, and are otherwise rude.

OK food, easy on wallet, bad service.. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. I was promptly seated and my order was taken. It was at around 1:30 pm, so it was fairly busy. Server came back to me after 30 mins to confirm that I'd ordered. When I said I did, he asked me for the name of the dish, which ofcourse I've forgotten. I asked him to give me the menu so that I can tell him which dish I ordered. His response was a grunt, which I thought was very rude. When I told him that the dish I ordered was "Nasi Lemak" after looking at the menu, he went back and seemed to enter it in the system. I had my dish in another 10 mins. A soup was served in the mean time, which was not good. My dish was ok, but chicken could have been better cooked. I think I'll give them another shot.
