Awesome Doughnuts!. Awesome doughnuts (beaths Krispy Kreme hands down!) and good coffee. Best breakfast I can think of!
great donuts, but a bit overhyped. The Top Pot is a great neighborhood destination, but I think it gets a little too much hype, probably from people who want an alternative from the corporate Krispy Kreme. I must say that it's a wonderful place to hang out, have some coffee and a donut, especially if you live in the neighborhood. The donuts are special. Their specialties are the crullers and other cake-style donuts. They pull a good espresso drink, and the ambience is pretty damn great. Seating is limited though. They also have outdoor seating, which rules. That all said, I have to admit that, like Krispy Kreme, the TP donuts are still just donuts. The difference between KK and TP is a matter of taste and what you want to do. Nothing beats a KK raised/glazed straight out of the oven, nor does nothing beat a warm.
Way Mass Jammin' Donuts. Yep, you can skip the KK donuts and the hype. These almost unknown donuts are the cream of Seattle donuts.
Donut Heaven. Top Pot donuts are the best donuts I have EVER eaten. Skip KK and make a beeline for the Pot.
By far the best -- Krispy what?. Definitely the best donuts in Seattle, and you don't need to schleep out to Issaquah and wait in line with 100 other Seattllites that decide to bring donuts to work that day!
best donuts by far. All I have to say is try one - usually a line out the door on Sunday mornings. While the donuts are stellar, you can't beat the atmosphere.
Fun but Greasy.
Top Pot cake donuts taste pretty good and are delightful to look at. Their sprinkles are the best - the big chunky ones with square cut edges, not bitty broken bits. And, they're served in a pleasant setting.
But, they are greasy. It varies. Sometimes the grease pools out and sometimes it just makes a tasty crust on the outside of the donut.
Unfortunately, the raised donuts are inedible and a knock-off to boot. Where else have you seen filled powdered big ones? Look around.
hella cool.
I used to be a donut snob...I guess I still am. I thought the first time I had one of Krispy Kreme's I'd died and gone to heaven; then I had the finest donuts in my life!
I'm on a strict no fat diet (cholesterol, you know) but I can totally 'relapse' when I get around 'Top Pot', it's like they're calling me from far away! Plus, if you've ever laid eyes on the owner...I have one word for him: 'Woof'! Seriously, fine people, fine donuts!
Books, coffee and donuts=Nirvana. It's my neighborhood cafe, so I'm biased. But, I can't think of another cafe of the same size in this city with a look and feel that's comparable. And the donuts!! Have a cruller and you'll silently thank me and the owners.
Seattle doesn't know donuts . . .. Top Pot serves up a darned decent donut, certainly much better than the Krispy Krap that everyone is completely obsessed with, but these are not the best donuts ever. The cruellers taste exactly like the cake donuts, the server didn't understand my spouse's request for old-fashioned donuts even though they were listed the menu, and the raised donuts are too plain. Sorry, but you can do better . . . well, maybe not in this city . . .
