Great place to wait and wait and wait for the music to start. I came on a Monday night to see Spellbinder. The calendar said it was supposed to start at 9:00 PM. I felt bad for arriving three minutes late. But... After a half hour of finishing sound check, the band dicked around for another 20 minutes going out for a smoke and such. I tried the food to kill some time. Bring your own frozen pizza from Costco if you want to eat fast. After they started 55 minutes LATE, I listened for about ten minutes, and then had to head home 'cause, there's Tuesday morning out there, right? AVOID THIS PLACE UNTIL THERE IS A STATEMENT ON THE CALENDAR, THAT EFFECTIVELY IMMEDIATELY, CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO MAKE THE CALENDAR A USEFUL PLANNING TOOL!!!!!

Self Centered. What has happened to building relationships & supporting people in our local community? I work at La Cantina; a tiny off the map, “underground”, unlisted bar catering to musicians & came to Tost to see some of the bands I work with. While at Tost I tried to pass out flyers for my bar & leave some on a table which many bars & venues have available for advertisement. The manager at Tost felt so threaten that I would take business away from him, he asked I stop & told me it was best I leave. If one were to see La Cantina you would see there is no threat. Tost has a web-site, adds in The Stranger & located on the beaten path; we have none of!!!! We simply just have a myspace. . .

Uptight bartenders. This place is way too uptight, maybe it was just that night my friends and I went, but we were dancing around having a great time, and the bartenders decided we needed to be cut off. We took a few shots, and were dancing, but isn't that part of partying? I wouldn't recommend this place unless you just want to sit and listen to music.

Don't Expect Customer Service. We went to Tost because they have happy hour til 8pm: 1/2 off food and good drink specials. We went directly to the deck, it's cute and cozy. The bartender came immediately, we ordered drinks, the Cheese Plate and the Mediterranean Plate. The drinks came very quickly. But after 40 min, there was still no food (neither of those dishes had to be cooked!!) and no sign of the bartender again. Around this time, another bartender started serving the deck customers, so I asked her to find out what was going on with our food and I ordered another drink. The next time she came out, she was empty handed and she ignored me. Then she was back inside in a flash. I had to flag her down the next time to ask where my food and drinks were, and was told there was an ingredient problem, but now there's only one order in front of ours, so it should be out soon. By now it's been an hour, so we canceled our food order and left.

Rotating local art adorns the walls of this Fremont hot space where live music brings in 20-something crowds.. In Short
Dark blue lighting, an outdoor patio and cozy chairs by a fireplace present ample spots to snuggle up with a drink and enjoy the tunes. Specialty drinks--all called "martinis"--are served in the traditional wide-rimmed and long-stemmed glasses. Try the "Summer"--a blend of Tanqueray gin, fresh squeezed lime and a touch of vermouth sure to quench even the wildest of thirsts.
