Editorial Review for Olive and Bette's – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Mainstream music staples from the likes of Madonna and more fill the air with pop delight as shoppers check out trendy designer denim and cute tops. There's more color in this store's pinky finger than in the rest of the neighborhood, with adorable floral-pattern rubber boots (for adults!) and a bevy of tinted T-shirts from cult favorite Michael Stars. Skirts from Free People, tanks from James Perse, and much more is also available.

Similar in flavor, but also with home furnishings and accessories, Anthropologie deserves a gander.

Wonderful collection--owner Stacy really knows her stuff, and the designers know it (she's regularly contacted by several of them for her insight on the latest trends). Some wonderful sales clerks--very attentive and stylish. However, after observing the miserable way they treat their employees, I will never again enter the store. NYC has too many places to shop to support such attitude.

Pros: wonderful selection, top trends

Cons: horrible treatment of staff

Who needs to be over charged for jeans when all you get for the trouble of sticking to small boutiques is the RUDE manager (Erika) I was told none of their denim would really fit me because I had a flat backside. This coming from a girl with the biggest rear end I have ever seen. And since their prices are about 10% more than bloomindales next time I am just going there. I say stay away why get pay more to be treated worse?

Pros: the buyer has a good eye

Cons: the service is BAD and there is no one to complain to since the manager is the worst one
