We take great pride in our seafood selection as well as the quality and freshness of our dishes. Our restaurant has LA's largest oyster bar, also featuring the Oyster and Wine Sampler. Come and enjoy our delicious meals in the comfort of the casual but elegant South Pacific décor or watch the sunset over Santa Monica Bay from our patio. We serve lunch daily until 4pm as well as host "Oyster Hour" from 4pm-6:30pm Monday through Friday, and 3pm-5pm on the weekends.

Editorial Review for Ocean Ave Seafood – by Melanie Abrams

The Scene
The airy dining room exudes '90s chic, with accents of shiny brass and dark wood, wicker furniture and lush ficus trees. The hip-looking staff bring this crowded eatery up to date, and the ocean view from the patio can't be beat.

The Food
The sophisticated seafood menu features imported delicacies like big eye tuna from Kona and Pacific Northwest mussels. From the raw bar, plump, bi-coastal oysters are a must. Imperial Eagles from British Columbia are particularly sweet and succulent. Pry broiled lobster tail from the shell and indulge in tender meat with a crisp, smoky crust. Grilled wild king salmon is flaky and moist, brilliantly matched with a rich, almost meaty, pinot noir and cherry sauce. Warm chocolate bread pudding with creamy vanilla bean sauce is a standout dessert.

I can eat seafood all day long, I love it. I went to Ocean Ave. Seafood for dinner the other day and was blown away! First we sat at the oyster bar and watched the guy serve up live oysters on the half shell and they were awesome! I don't really see a place where you can sit and watch that and eat them while having a nice white wine to accompany it! For dinner I had shrimp that was stuffed with crabmeat, nicely seasoned roasted potatoes and crisp sauteed vegetables. I'll definately be back!

Pros: Ambience, and service

Cons: N/A

While Ocean Avenue Seafood has valet parking, a nice view, excellent shellfish, and some good menu selections, it is expensive and poorly managed. Our party waited an inordinate length of time to be waited on, to be told that they were 'out' of several selections. Non fish items were mediocre, portion sizes small, and it was obvious that the restaurant itself is poorly managed.

Pros: good shellfish, nice location, valet parking (expensive, however)

Cons: poorly managed, bad service, non-fish items inedible,
