Like everyone else, I've heard the complaints about AT&T's service, but I've yet to experience any big problems first hand. My main beef? The rate of return on my investment. Sure, for the money you lay out for broadband, you get a fair amount of variety, but it's a variety of mind-numbing, soul-sucking choices. Granted, AT&T isn't in charge of its programming, but it's a lot of money to pay for middling-quality output. Lower rates might encourage users to load up on more premium packages, which would at least offer the illusion/possibility of better choices.

Long story short: My cable went out the Thursday before a big TV basketball weekend. I called and was told someone would be out within 24 hours. Friday night, still no cable. Another call: "No one can come out until Sunday, earliest." "But what about basketball," I ask. "Sorry. $5 off you're next bill?" Me: "I'm going to spend $5 in the first 10 minutes I'm at the sports bar I'm going to have to move into this weekend." Them: "Ha. That's funny!" Me: "You're fired." Them: "You need to be there between 8-5 next Saturday so we can get your box." Me: "Ha. That's funny!" Click.
