Impossible to contact them.... I've been trying and trying to contact them to pay a parking ticket. The phone just continues to ring. I need to pay my ticket as I don't use checks and I cannot get a hold of anyone. This is incredibly frustrating. Maybe the owner of AMPCO is just so rich from all of us who patronize and get tickets from them, they just don't care about good customer service. And, WOW! that's really bad when the SPD tries to work with this company on making parking more safe everyone but AMPCO won't work with them! In the future, I will try not to use AMPCO for parking. Ha Ha, good luck. Sorry to everyone who's had such a bad experience especially the guy who came to Seattle for a visit and probably will never come back due to this company.

Seattle Police Dept. advises you to never park here!. "By far, the parking garage with the highest car prowl incidents in Seattle...on average, 10-14 reported acts of car vandalism a WEEK. The owner of the garage is completely apethetic."--Seattle Police Department

...a direct quote from the officer who took my police report after four cars were vandalized on a Tuesday evening. He said the SPD has spoken with the owner of the garage and "security" service (a non-entity that only patrols the minimum rounds required by law...if that). They've offered advice on ways to monitor and secure the garage and practically begged and pleaded to secure the stairwell and elevators...every time, the owner was apethetic.

The officer's advice? NEVER PARK HERE. EVER. You are placing your car and personal belongings at very high risk. Even nearby lots with minimal security measures are a tonload safer than this car trap.

The owner of this garage deserves a class-action lawsuit.

Very Shady Business Practices!. (Can I rate lower than a star? Zero stars?) I'm from Wyoming and last week was visiting Seattle's city center. It was my first time to Washington. I'm not too experienced with big cities and the "expectations." I parked in Ampco's "James Claypoole Garage." I paid at the pay station - $8.00 to park 0-3 hours. I was running late while visiting the Space Needle and Aquarium. I didn't worry about it, because I FULLY INTENDED AND EXPECTED TO PAY THE BALANCE DUE AND OWING WHEN I LEFT THE GARAGE. Every parking garage I have been in (2 or 3) - you pay a parking attendant to "square up" when you leave. I ALMOST put more money in the f-ing pay station when I got back about 90 minutes later - glad I didn't do that, because there was already an outrageously HIGH citation on my windshield! $72.00! I see from other reviews, people that stayed late were only charge a $25.00 daily fee. Why not me? I contacted customer service via email - Rebecca Ortiz refuses to even consider my ignorance and cut me a break. Needless to say, it left me with a sour impression of Seattle. Way to go Ampco.

AMPCO SUCCKSS!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!. PARKED my car in ampco 2nd and union for the 6.50 special just like the ( wasabi08085) and on my way out accidently rolled down my window and parking ticket fell in the crack. the parking attendant was not understanding at ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he charged me maximum 25 dollar fee and he had attitude FATT AASS!!! gave me a numer to call nobody picked up.

Ampco the worst customer service!!! had a similar experience with ampco accidentally put 20 dollars in one of there parking machines(which said it doesn't give change back) my parking fee was only supposed to be 5 dollars. So i called them and they were rude but said they would mail me the money never got it!!!!!!

Ampco counts on innocent people to make mistakes and have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH DIAMIOND SERVICES! AT 11:00PM AT NIGHT I DIDN'T PAY FOR PARKING AND i GOT TWO tickets one for , no advanced payment and the other for improperly parked!!! called diamond up they ANSWERED THE PHONE which is always great!!!! then she canceld the improperly parked and then waived the other one and made me pay the evening rate (normal rate)

thats what i called customer service

AMPCO - 2nd & Union Seattle. On 6/23/10, I parked my car at the AMPCO Union and 2nd parking garage (next to Triple Door). I normally pay $6.50 plus tax, which is a great rate there if you're in before 9am and leave within 10 hrs.

On that particular day, there was a Seattle protest that broke out around 5pm and I was not aware of it (especially not aware of it at 9am in the morning when I parked). I left the office with a half hour to spare for me to clock out of the garage before the 10hours was up. It turns out that the protest caused so much traffic that the garage was backed up to the 6th floor where I was parked. It took me AN HOUR to get down to the booth to pay for the ticket. I even parked, got out and asked the men if I could pay my ticket ahead of time so that I wouldn't be penalized with the full fare of the garage. They said there was no way they would know that I wasn't just paying for it now and actually going someplace for awhile. That's a great way to talk to your customers.

So, I sat in an hour traffic on the garage ramps, only for them to tell me that I was being charged the full fare at $25 when I got to the booth. I refused to pay it and they said there was no way that they could change the fee to $6.50. Instead I had to call a man named Soloman at the office the next day to request it, otherwise, I had 25 days to pay the $25 fee.

I called the next day and left a message for Soloman asking him to honor that lower fee since it was not my fault I coudln't pay for the ticket in time. It was also not my fault that the garage was backed up for an hour. I did recognize that it wasn't their fault either, but to have them not willing to honor the lower fee was ridiculous since they could see the line of cars waiting! If anything, the AMPCO Manager (Solomon) should have been down there to see how bad it was.

Solomon cut me off as I was also trying to talk and that absolutely is not customer service! He was rude, obnoxious, and bitched about the fact that he called 'Corporate' and they said that this is a one time waiver only! If the streets in Seattle are closed off, they have no control over that and they can't override their charges.

What a bunch of bullshit! There is always an override for every system out there. It's a matter of knowing how and asking the right people. In addition, the streets of Seattle were NOT closed off, there was TRAFFIC DUE TO THE PROTEST!! And it broke out at 5pm, how would I have known that when I parked in the morning, or even at 5pm???

AMPCO is not a customer oriented business and is obviously greedy about their business profits. You own a large amount of garages in urban cities and you can't honor the fares when an unexpected event occurs??? It sound like you need to review your procedures for dealing with crisis events or unexpected events. They will occur again.

It is pure genious to treat your customers this way. I did not waste my energy on Solomon any further because I will never have to deal with this again, as I will never park in any of your garages EVER. I am hoping that other people don't experience this and if you're looking to park in a garage in downtown Seattle, just be aware of AMPCO and especially don't park on 2nd and Union (next to Triple Door). There is a reason why that particular garage is so inexpensive! Not to mention that it stinks and the people are rude to their customers.

Good luck out there, but AMPCO needs more than luck.
