Top notch Michiko!. Desperate for a product and unable to locate one anywhere that I could get before a deadline, I called Brookstone on Pine in Seattle and talked with an outstanding person named MICHIKO (aka, Chico). The interest shown and help given were top-notch. I will have my needed product on time -- and a better one at a better price than I dared hope. Needless to say, I recommend this store. AND --> Thank you Michiko!
A store filled with gadgets and gizmos that make the average Joe feel like 007..
In Short
Unique, high-end consumer products are functional in purpose and fabulously designed. Entering the market in 1965 as a vendor for "hard-to-find tools," the chain now carries a wide variety of products for home, office, travel, auto, health and fitness needs. An interactive environment encourages shoppers to try most of the products (think reclining massage chairs and wine bottle openers). Offerings range from high-tech gadgetry like slim CD players and air purifiers, to low-tech items like mattress pads and outdoor furniture covers.
Worst sales person ever!.
I went to the Brookstone store at Pacific Place on a friday night after work to shop
for a massage chair for mother's day gift. When I was trying one of the floor samples in the store, a sales person from the store told me that I had to be 18 to be on that chair. He walked away after I told him my age. However, less than one minute later, the other sales person who looked like a manager approached me and asked me if I had any questions. After I said no, he rudely grabbed the remote from my hand and turned it off, saying "OK, now I have to turn this off." Then he walked away.
I felt offended and confused. I have never had experience like this. I thought that any stores would welcome all customers to try out their prodcuts before buying, not to mention that it's a $3995 massage chair. I am sorry that I still look like a teenager in my mid 20s, but I feel worse for the store to have a manager like that. There are other stores with similar products and much bettered-trained employees.
