Overall, it is a restaurant I won't visit again (the food is truly nothing special), but a friendly place, though our waiter was attentive yet inattentive. He was moving around so quickly from table to table that he once left the table while I tried to ask him a question and another time he started leaving the table when he thought we were done ordering dinner. My husband had to stop him to let him know he wanted a side of guacamole. Nice man, but he needs to slow his roll and listen.

We had #23 large combo plate and Adelita dessert. I have written the following breakdown of our meal:

Chips and Salsa: fine; chips were not stale and the salsa had a nice little kick for me, but husband couldn't tell.

Guacamole: fine and tasty.

Rice & Beans: fine.

Pork Enchilada: so-so as the pork was a bit dry (sometimes looked discolored, but I wasn't positive) and the enchilada sauce was not tasty meaning it was edible but not delicious. It was a tad sweet and lacked flavor.

Chili Relleno: First time having it; so-so as it was soggy with little flavor to it and was overtaken by all of the cheese that topped it.

Tamale: only ate half of it; the masa was thick and dry, it was covered in the non-tasty enchilada sauce described above, and the pork inside was OK.

Adelita - Flan with Sopapilla and Ice Cream: DISGUSTING; the flan wasn't silky whatsoever; it had a chunky texture; it felt and tasted like it was a frozen dessert purchased from the local Cash & Carry; only took one bite; the sopapillas were just glorified fried flour tortilla chips topped with honey, canned or jar strawberry topping, and spray can whipped cream; the ice cream was normal and vanilla.

I truly thought what lacked in the dinner would be saved by the dessert, but it ended up acting as the last nail in the coffin.

This restaurante truly lives up to it's name.

The friendly staff makes you feel at home and will remember you on your next visit. The soup and fresh fish tacos are all time favorites for my friends and family; however my personal favorite is the soft tacos as carbon.

My vegetarian friend was more than pleased with the savory rice and whole pinto beans with light cheese topping.

Enjoy this tasty treat on the Eastside.

it's good but nothing special.... Good food with reasonable prices. The place has the usual dishes you'd expect, like various tacos, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas, etc... Nothing special, but good. Well, we did enjoy the food. They do have good service, and everything you'd expect at a typical Mexican restaurant. I would eat here again.

Authentic "Text-Mex". This place has authentic "Tex-Mex" food. No.. not "Mexican" food - "Tex-Mex". Look it up on Wikipedia if you're confused. The service is less than spectacular, it's relatively clean and mastery of the english language is a bit lacking. Those characteristics are actually good points that add to the authenticity of this "Tex-Mex" establishment. Sitting in there feels like being back in Texas ordering a piping hot bowl of menudo con tortillas de maize. If authentic Mexican is what you really want then you'll want to go to El Rinconsito.

Second Visit. The chips and salsa were good and the beer was cold, the taps may have even been cleaned recently as I didn't taste any "funk" in my beer.

The food was Taco Bell quality, the shredded beef tasted like it was made the day before, and cooking all day and night.

The chicken was very dry.

The lettuce was fresh and the tomatoes were light pink, not red.

The rice was dry and the beans were out of the can style.

They skimp a little on the cheese.

The tamale was extremely dry.

They didn't take the core (seeds) out of the chili relleno

You do get a lot of food for the money.

The presentation of the food is great however.

Our silverware had soap spots, but no food chunks.

The bartender was our server and seemed more interested talking with his friends and watching the game on TV, rather then refilling our overly sweet margaritas. The limes in our drinks died a few days before we saw them.

I chew on straws (old habit) so I usually grab a bar straw to chew on, the bottom of the straw was sticky (read: they don't clean the container, ever.) That means every drink with a straw in it shares the same slime as the container.

The decor in the bar is extremely outdated and cheep looking. The TV needs to be replaced with something MUCH larger and clearer.

The outside patio over looks a parking lot with cars 3' away.

The prices were low.

I would rather eat at Taco Bell then here again, and I hate Taco Bell's horrid food.

This is the second time I have been here with my girlfriend, we only went back to give a second chance to the place (it's close), we not stop by again till an "Under New Management" sign is outside.

I think the owners of this place have forgotten about it.. It's kinda sad, with good upkeep and management it would be a great place.

Authentic and tasty.. I like this place. It's a favorite of mine for both lunch and dinner. What I especially like is that when you order something, it shows up looking and tasting like it's supposed to. This is not one of those trendy chains where you might worry about ordering a cheese enchilada without first asking what they put in it to make it "better." Decor is pretty much what it's supposed to be as well. Service is good. Ask for some of the chunky salsa and enjoy.
