Tips for Jack in the Box

1.0
September 28, 2009

It's horrible will never eat at that location again!. I'd like to share this brand experience with as many people as possible. Two days ago, I was craving a Big Cheese Burger from Jack in the Box. After a long day of work my wife and I decided to fulfill my crave. We walked into the Jack's located at 4323 196th St SW, in Lynnwood WA just before 5pm.

There was no line and one lady behind the counter, whom I believe was the manager. She was wiping trays and placing the paper-lining.

She looked up and told us, "use the auto order kiosk".

So... I had to wonder. There's no-line and I'm told to use the auto-order kiosk?

I said, "I don't want to use the machine".

She than pointed again and said "use the auto-order kiosk!"

My reply was once again. "I don't want to use the auto-order kiosk".

Then she started yelling at me – rambling about not having someone available to work the front counter and that she need to help drive-tru. Once again than why was she cleaning trays? I was totally confused by the situation. We left Jack's without ordering and very upset.

I was so upset that I tweeted about it as soon as possible. I also left a comment on jackinthebox website.

Today I received a phone call from their customer service reps. I'd have to say the experience wasn't much better than the one I had at the restaurant. The first rep was very kind and I felt like she was really listening... Then she passed me over to someone named Bradley.

Bradley was fixated on the fact that I didn't want to use the auto-order kiosk. He asked if I've ever tried to use it before. Which I did when Jack was giving away free tacos. However, my frustration with the kiosk, made me cancel the order and use the traditional means. Than Bradley asked if I asked for help with the kiosk. No, the line was long and that's why I tried the kiosk in the first place, plus free tacos.

Bradley than told me that "Jack in the Box is going to go to an ALL auto-order kiosk".

WHAT? You mean to tell me that I won't have a choice how to order at Jack in the Box in the future???

At this point I told Brad that if Jack does this, I'll never eat at ANY Jack in the Box. I already have crossed the one at 4323 196th St SW off the list. I then said, when this happens don't expect my parents to order a hamburger from a kiosk. He said... "I'll make a note".

This wasn't even the main reason I was upset, it was about the way we were treated. We walked in the door to give Jack our money in return for a few cheese burgers. At this point I figured my talk with Brad wasn't going anywhere so I asked him.

"Why isn't Jack on Twitter?"

His reply is Jack doesn't have time for Twitter he only uses Facebook. I'm totally surprised that someone like Jack whom might be using kiosks as his main way to order, wouldn't be on Twitter? How will he know when someones upset? He won't.

Or maybe Jack, just doesn't care about me or his brand.

Fast-food chain attracts a drive-thru crowd with its made-to-order burgers and specialty sandwiches.. In Short
Since 1951, this quick-serve restaurant has catered to on-the-go motorists, pioneering drive-thru dining and a broad selection of distinctive fast-food items. The menu emphasizes burgers like the best-selling Jumbo Jack--a thick patty topped with lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mayo-onion sauce--but value items like stuffed jalapenos, bacon-cheddar potato wedges, and "monster" tacos are popular, too. Breakfast and sourdough sandwiches, salads and real ice cream shakes round out the offerings.
