Be warned. Demeaning experience, awful results.

by lolapop575 at Citysearch

Worst haircut and color I've ever had. Julea didn't listen to what I wanted, wasn't even at the salon when I showed up on time for my appointment, and told me to come back the next day to finish the color. Not only did I end up with shoulder-length hair that was heavy in the front and overly layered in the back (asked for long layers, lost almost 9 inches of hair) - making me look like a basset hound. My bangs were bleached platinum when I said I liked a little blond around the face, and as a result, my forehead was so chemically burnt, I had blisters and scabs so badly I couldn't brush or wash my hair for a week. I felt like she was insulted that I didn't call her a genius for something I clearly wasn't happy with, and so she took it out on my head. No one alive would think I looked even decent on my second trip in two days to this salon. When I finally asked for a refund, she gave half back - because she said it was my fault - and would only give me a refund if I promised not to write a review. Full disclosure - I got $90 our of $160 back - but the process was incredibly demeaning and awful. I wore hats for FOUR MONTHS, and had two stylists correct the color before I felt comfortable going out in public again. I do not want this to happen to anyone else.

  • Pros: none.
  • Cons: bad attitude, no management to intervene in case of problems, lack of communication, hurried, lack of skill with color, no receptionist - stylists return your message/call when they want

i heart julie!!!!

by ballsey at Citysearch

Living on the eastside, i find it surprising that i'm so willing to make the trek over to seattle just for a hair cut. But at Nucleus, i definitly feel like it's worth the commute. Julie cuts a mean head of hair, and seems to have an uncanny idea every time of what i have in mind. She not only cuts your hair, but even gives your eyebrows a trim if they need it, and a very welcome scalp massage when she shampoos your hair. On top of the skills, she's great to chat with. And hey, anywhere that offers porn in the waiting area is somewhere i'll be happy to be... ;)

Nathan rocks my world!!!

by azankich at Citysearch

Nathan has been cutting my hair for the last 8+ years and I've never once been disappointed. He can cut hair like no one else in Seattle and makes it fun too! Moving to Nucleus (from Rudy's) was a great move, and now you can actually make appointments for a top-notch chop chop. Not only do I look great after a cut, I feel great too!!! Arrive early to listen to the great music and to page through their **fun** magazine selection. P.S. Will is a good guy too!
