changes. they've made a lot of changes here lately & it's a much better place for it. the staff is friendly & do their part to help keep the club clean (aside from the janitorial staff). the front desk staff are always really helpful & usually greet me by name. i haven't got complaints about this gym anymore - they've really stepped up their game.

THE BEST. If you were ever unhappy before as a member, you should give this location a second chance (everyone deserves a second chance!). Vision Quest Sport and Fitness are now the owners and they take good care of their gyms and customers. You can't even beat their prices or PERSONAL TRAINING. Yes, Vision Quest does not outsource personal training, it is all done by them as well. If you live in the Western Washington, I guarantee, you will not find a better gym.

Best of western washington!. I enjoy working out at my lake city gym! It's close to my home and the PT department is the best! I have been a member here for 2years and never been happier. The daycare is cheap too! So I have no excuse to miss a workout :) Go check it out!

I love it.. I've been a member forever it's a real family owned small company but they still update their equipment regularly. They are the cheapest price in NW and do their best to offer training and classes for free. They doing all that in these financially crippling times has got to be hard. I think the training company Profit a separate company is their only Achilles heal. Great job Mieko's in trying times, get rid of Profit!

Filthy club, lousy service, sneaky billing. I was a member at Mieko's for about a year. It was a really bad experience from beginning to end. The first day I was offered a free hour of training and then found myself under a hard sell for expensive lessons from an aggressive, know it all kid who got more and more aggressive the more I told him I wasn't interested. The staff at the front desk is surly, the facilities are filthy, carpets (yes, carpets, in a gym!) black with sweat, showers rarely mopped, and some really weird people hanging out in the lockers. When I finally quit they sent me to collections for a $15 "annual" fee buried in the fine print of their contract. I switched to another Fitness club (open 24 hrs!) and I couldn't be happier. I hope this nightmare is finally over.

Good gym for the money. When it comes to looking for a gym I have several important factors to evaluate opions. First, there better be a big parking lot, so you don't have to waste your time looking for a spot. Second, the gym needs to have good equipment (free weights, treadmills, etc.) and enough equipment so that you are standing around while you could be working out. And finally, nice people, I don't want to be on the receiving end of someone's "stink eye" just because I am working out next to them. I think Miekos has all this and more.

I wish anyone looking for a gym good luck because it does make a difference finding a good gym. Check it out and I will see you there!

Works fine for me. Has a decent free weight section (two squat racks, four benches, one shoulder press bench, and a good range of dumbbells), which is really all I'm looking for.

I've noticed the trainers are generally useless and tell clients to do lots of "core" work. Don't waste your time or any money on them; find a reputable program such as Starting Strength, Stronglifts 5x5, WS4SB, etc.

Membership cost is pretty low.

I've only been approached once about using personal training and the guy didn't push it too hard.

If you're into weight machines and cardio equipment there's plenty of that, too. I cant really speak to the quality of those things.

The other people that lift are nice enough.

Overall, Mieko's does the job for me, but I wouldn't recommend it over any other gym.

Well, it's inexpensive. I recently joined the Lake City club. It's a decent place with decent equipment. I strongly agree with the earlier comment about the staff and trainers being more interested in flirting and socializing than doing their jobs. I am not sure about the trainer's qualifications but they look very young. There is nothing wrong with that necessarily but they also look completely bored and distracted when with a client, you know the people "paying" for their services. It doesn't seem like a very friendly place and it's extremely impersonal.

I will keep going there but not because of the staff or trainers or management. It's a good deal for me, until something better comes along.

Yes, I would recommend it but with strong reservations.

you get what you pay for. I have been a member for about 5 years. The facilities are basic but acceptable. the staff is young and more interested in flirting than being attentive to customers. they offer "free refresher work outs" but have such a young and poorly paid staff that I have yet to have anyone I have worked with last more than 6 months. I have not used the trainers from Professional Fitness because I have overheard them in training sessions and have been struck by the inaccurate information they give out and their unprofessional and unsafe approach to training. You do get what you pay for and the story here is bare bones and minimalist.

Basically a legal scam. These people are absolutely CROOKED! I signed up for a membership after LITERALLY being bullied by their workers. They kept saying it was just to meet their quota and it was not a full legal membership, just like a trial for the membership and a physical trainer and that I didnt even have to use it.

After seeing bills in the mail for them, I called and tried to cancel the service I never even used. They said I couldn't cancel before I paid off the full year of service and paid off the 2 thousand dollar trainer fee!! I NEVER heard about any of this!

No I find out they have sent me to collections even after trying to pay off back payments and canceling. Thank you Mieko's for being the worst business/people on the planet.
