AVOID THIS PLACE. Unless you like to be lied to, then maybe swing by. I've never been treated so poorly.
Best of all time. I really had not had time to take proper care of my skin. I have been looking for a place to go and get a good facial. A friend recommend I go here and book an appointment with Emily. When I got there, Emily came up and greeted me. She was very pleasant and friendly. I was a little nervous having not gone to her before. She was great at putting me at ease. The best part is that this was the best facial I ever had. Emily works absolute magic! It felt absolutely wonderful and my face looked radiant. I will definitely be going back again. If you go here, ask for Emily. She is the best.

First of all, the moment I walked into the salon, a Vietnamese man, who I assumed was the owner, snapped his fingers at me and pointed to a chair, very rudely while he talked on his cell phone. I sat down on one of the couches and started flipping through the magazines they had to offer. There was no one else there, it seemed. I have never seen a salon so empty on a Saturday before!
After 30 minutes of waiting, my stylist, Jenni approached me and brought me back for my color, cut, and eyebrow wax. I wanted my hair very light blonde so she started putting foils of bleach in my hair. At first it was going okay, other than the awkward silence. She didn't say two words to me after I told her what I wanted! Then my scalp started to sting and burn. I asked her if it was supposed to burn and she said, and I quote, "Well, its not supposed to feel good." I was in shock! I mean how rude?
Finally she took me over to the shampoo bowl and snapped at a girl who she called "Shampoo Girl". What was with the snapping! This "Shampoo Girl", who seemed irritated began to shampoo my hair. Jenni came around the other side and started waxing my eyebrows...at the shampoo station!!! It was like a freaking chop shop or something!
Overall the cut was okay, a little shorter than I had asked for. The color turned out okay but, hurt in the process. The service and business ethic was the worst I've ever experienced and the extremely high prices were definitely not worth the trouble. Please, please, please don't go here unless you adore rude people and love pain.
By the way I think it is extremely rude to suggest I was not a real customer and I posted the same review on yelp that they paid to have removed. Bad Business!
Our goal is to provide 100% customer satisfaction. But this review really puzzled us?! We went through every appointment for the last 4 Saturdays (30+ services every Saturday) to find out this mysterious person that had the exact services but we came up blank. If this was a real client we would like her (?) to contact us.
But this sounds too much like a disgruntled stylist we let go for being dishonest.
Cut and color you can trust. I have been going here for a few years now and have always got a great cut and color.
Wonderful relaxing facial. I went to the salon to take advantage of a Spa Wish Gift Card I had received months ago. I looked up salons in the Seattle area and decided to go to Illustrated Hair Salon. I am so glad that I did. Catalina gave me a very relaxing facial and I was very pleased with her technique. I felt like she was very concerned with making me feel pampered. Everything about being there was good! I plan to go back for more relaxing moments.
Great customer service and a GREAT style!.
I posted a negative review awhile ago because a stylist that was at Illustrated briefly did a terrible job on my hair (my long-time stylist there had recently moved). The owners saw my review, called me, and offered me a free redo - even though it had been months since my bad experience. That, in and of itself, was amazing - what great customer service!
Then, Jennie did my redo and WOW! She is so talented. She understood exactly what I wanted and my hair looks amazing. I will definitely continue to be a dedicated client at Illustrated!

Great Haircut for curly hair!.
I recently got my haircut by Christine, at Illustrated Salon on Greenlake, she really took the time to listen to what I wanted to do with my unruley curly hair. She gave a great shampoo and scalp massage and some how managed to tame my wild hair! Thanks a ton!
Amelia is amazing.
Amelia is a truly talented stylist and colorist. with an artist's touch. She takes her time and is creative in the way she cuts and does color. I have never been happier with my cut and color as I have been in the last year. $145 is the most I've ever spent on a partial foil and cut, but I budget it into my life because Amelia is so good.
The salon carries good product lines. I also like that nobody pushes any products on me that I don't need.
Great cut--bad liars. Got a hair cut by Jinny--great cut. But when I went to pay, things went awry. The hair cut suddenly cost a lot more than what they quoted me over the phone. I told her what I was quoted over the phone--and she said, "yes but it cost extra for long hair". I was immediately upset--as in this economy, we're all watching our pennies--and no one told me this over the phone. And since when is shoulder length hair considered "long"? I decided I could get over it--but then, I went to pay with my gift certificate. She said the gift certificate is worth 15% less for processing fees. Now I felt like I was being screwed--I had asked about the gift certificates when I called earlier that day and was told it was only 10% for the processing fees. She looked at me like "sorry, but there's nothing I can do". But when I told her this, suddenly, the gentleman who was standing behind her this entire time overhearing our conversation (the same guy who quoted me both of these things over the phone) turned around and said, "ya, I told her it was only going to be 10%". If I hadn't said anything--she would have charged me the 15% and he wouldn't have argued! I won't go back--I feel like they are dishonest --as everything was different than what they told me over the phone. Beware!

Our prices are starting points since everyone's hair is different. It would not be possible to make a exact quote for hair services over the phone. Our stylists would mention about any additional costs prior or during a service.

Best cut and color I've EVER had. This is the best salon I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot of salons. Amelia is so talented and really listens when you're explaining what you want - then creates it a million times better than it even looked in your head! I always thought I couldn't wear my hair long because it got limp when it got past my shoulders. Other stylists always suggested hot rollers and/or crunchy gross products, but who has the time or wants crunchy hair? I can barely manage a blowdry in the morning! Amelia created a cut that creates fullness and bounce with just a blowdry. My hair's to the middle of my back now and NOT LIMP (and I'm still on grocery-store shampoo...so it's definitely the cut). I also love that the salon is eco-friendly and no one tries to hard sell products. Parking is easy and the location can't be beat!
