view & uploadA joke. If I could go lower then 1 star... The food is ok if you hit it at the right time. Come to late in the afternoon and it tastes like its been sitting under heat lamps to long. I have been there twice, my first experience was good. I treated my family both times to the tune of 100+ dollars. The second time was where I have the problem. I included the tip with my ticket at the register. Upon returning to the table to leave my family and I were accosted by 3 servers saying "no tip, no tip!" I tried to explain to them that I included it on the ticket but since they didn't speak English they did not understand. So if you don't mind being accosted by dishonorable, rude servers begging for money they already received for service that wasn't that great, then this place is for you. Otherwise, for the mediocre food and servers trying to shame us into giving them cash, embarrassing both myself and my family, I say steer clear.
Food and service is terrible. I went here recently because of the article in Seattle Magazine and they raved about this place. So I went and experienced the worst service of my life. The waiter was rude and extremely slow! Save your money people and don't waste your time at this place.
I got ripped off.
A friend of mine told me about the King Crab Speical at Top Gun Restaurant in Bellevue running for $9.99/lb. I took my family and friends, a total of 5, to Top Gun and tried out the Speical. The waiter took the live King Crab to the table and told me it is 8lb. I OK with it and asked the kitchen to prepare in 3 different dishes which I was told for $10 extra. I ordered a couple of extra side dishes from the Menu which cost around $22. At dinner, I noticed the body part of the King Crab was missing, The shell of the Crab was covered with rice with no taste of crab. Obviously, the shell was used before. After dinner, the bill added up to $144 + tax =$159. It didn't look right to me. I notice on the Bill with some extra items listed as "Kitchen Items". When I asked the waiter for explanation, he told me that were some items added into the dishes which I wasn't aware of or ordered. I had guests with me, so I just paid the bill with tips, a total of $180. I ended up having a ripped off dinner.
IF YOU GO & EAT THERE WHICH I DON'T RECOMMEND, BE CAREFUL NOT TO PAID WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. I HEARD SOMETHING BAD ABOUT THE OWNER.
Worst and rudest service I've EVER seen and had!!. I have never took the time out to write a review however after what I witnessed today I don't think I have much choice. I have worked as a server for approximately 8 yrs. so I am very aware of how the restaurant business works. Today (Valentine's Day) I saw a young and beautiful African-American couple completely shamed by our server. Now, I don't know the couple but we did have the same server. This man took over 5 mins. to greet me, another approx 10 mins to take my order, and when I asked him a question he answered by walking away and screaming the answer. When I got my food I informed him that I would also be ordering a to-go meal, which took him about 15 mins to take AFTER I was done eating. Furthermore, he only took it because I walked up to him to remind him. Now, before I go on I want to mention that the place was not yet busy so he really has no excuse for his behavior. So, moving along, this couple was on their way out when this incompetent server stopped them and INSISTED that they tip him more! He continued by telling them that it was "against the law" not to tip a certain amount and that they couldn't leave until they tipped! I can honestly say that I have wanted to do this before but never had. Also, judging by his service (or lack there of), he didn't deserve a dime! Finally this poor couple who probably just wanted to enjoy their Valentine's day date gave this pathetic man more money. Oh, and if you're wondering how I was able to hear all this?? Well, it's because the server literally raised his voice enough for the whole restaurant to hear!
Food is great. Service is bad.. Food is great. Service is bad. I went there four times for dim sum and quit going there because of bad service. First time: great food, average service. Second time: great food, bad service. Third time: great food, irritating service. Fourth time: great food, intolerable service. Ming Chinese restaurant has the same great food, but better service and cheaper price.
Great dim sum for the east side!. I finally tried Top Gun the other day and really liked the food. I live in Bellevue so it was nice not having to drive all the way out to Seattle for good dim sum. I highly recommend this place if you live on the Eastside and want to stay local.
Popular Place. This place is always hopping on the weekends. Better to get there when they open or you will face a long wait. Bathrooms are ....dirty..with paper towels overflowing the receptacles. Service is a bit rude too. You get that "rushed" feeling when you go here. It's "Wham, Bam, Thank you paying customer". However, the wait staff is pretty nice--the hostess needs lessons on "hospitality". The most irritating thing is, the do not show the prices on their Dim Sum checks, like you would see at some other restaurants. So, always ask! Another great place is called Chinese Seafood Restaurant in the Renton Highlands.
One of the BEST dimsum places to go to..
So far, me and my husband have been to three dimsum places (House of Hong, China Gate and Top Gun) and by far this is the best place to go to. We arrived arround 11:00 saturday. Parking is not a problem at this time. The atmosphere is okay , a typical dimsum type of atmosphere . The dimsum is awesome! You should try it . They have a wide variety of dimsum to choose from and it's warmed. My husband and I loved it! Bring your family, friends and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. The dimsum here is almost the same as what you get at hongkong dimsum restaurants. I loved this place.
Genie of Seattle
best dim sum I've had on the East Side. I'm almost in shock to read so many negative reviews on Top Gun. My husband and I went there for the first time last Sat. and had a wonderful experience, despite the hoodish surrounding (but what do you expect?? It?s in Factoria?) and limited parking spaces. The dim sun items are better than Noble Court (we?ve been going there for over 8 years), Santosa, and etc. The food was steaming hot and not as greasy as lots of other dim sum places. I also always order a stir-fry veggie dish to go with my brunch; the CNese broccoli was delicious- green and crispy. We will definitely go back there for dim sum again. The one flip-side thing I found is the staffs are a little slow-in-the-head, and I speak Chinese, so please beware of that fact and do some homework on Chinese food before you go there?
Editorial Review. Tucked behind Factoria Mall, this Eastside restaurant offers dim sum, seafood and the customary Chinese fare in a casual setting.
