Owner
At Pelage Spa and Skin Center, we have always believed that the skin is the basic element of beauty-it's why we call ourselves a spa and skin center. As a part of my personal commitment to overall wellness, I have extended the services we offer to include naturopathic, a life style plan that helps people get off the hordes of medications that help them get through the day but don't make them better. Our treatment plans are based on the following pillars: Personal Service, Safety, Comfort and Education. Every client and patient is treated as an individual, with individual goals and needs.

The Scene – Outside, it's quaint Gilman Village; inside it's feminine opulence, with faux marble floors, plaster columns, dried floral arrangements and delicate Victorian furniture. Estheticians in crisp white lab coats and massage therapists quietly greet guests, guiding them to a tiny locker room stocked with plush cotton robes, sandals and hairstyling products. After treatments, guests are handed bottled water, gently ushered out of the dimly lit, mint-green rooms and directed toward the sauna. – – The Services – A hot-stone massage kneads, smooths and warms the…
owner uses job interview as reason for free massage

Under the pretense of a job interview, the owner Joanne, received a free massage from me. There was no job, or even a phone call. I felt used. What a cheapskate!
- Pros: no rating negative stars?
- Cons: unprofessional and rude owner
Rude, Unprofessional, Made Me Seriously Angry

I received a gift card for this spa and decided to make the most of my day by scheduling three services (pedicure, massage, and facial).
After being kept waiting for my appointment I started with my pedicure. One of the employees child was running up and down the hall while I was 'trying" to relax.
Then on to the facial. Several times during my facial the gal performing this service had her cell phone ring in her pocket next to my ear. So very not relaxing, and unprofessional.
Then on the massage....this was not fabulous but not horrible either. However, I could hear conversations outside my room while again I was "trying" to relax.
I was so disappointed that I came home and wrote a letter to the owner JoAnne about my experience. I never recieved a reply back, no apology, it was just ignored. Not a very good way to get customers to come back.
I would have to say that I agree with every negative review on this site as I experienced it first hand. (This was a couple of years ago but it still falls in line with all the other reviews. Seems like nothing has changed.)
