Editorial Review for Duke's Chowder House on Greenlake – by Hannah Levin
In Short
Duke Moscrip's first place was opened on Lower Queen Anne in 1976 and has since expanded to three waterfront locations (Green Lake, Alki Beach and Lake Union). The seafood-centric menu includes half a dozen interpretations of clam chowder, fish-and-chips, a salmon sandwich, salads, steaks and a rotating selection of pastas.

The food has always been as expected but the service can be horrible at times especially if you come in for their happy hour. A friend and I sat down at the bar in front of the TWO bartenders who both ignored us. Thereafter the service just got worse, there was a lot of waiting between ordering, getting the drinks, getting the food and getting the bill. The bartender serving us was very cold and paid very little attention to our requests-I had to ask for an item I ordered twice before it was brought out 10 minutes after I had ordered it. Overall I thought that if you had two bartenders servicing the small bar area it shouldn't take so long to get what you need to have a good meal.
Pros: Good steamers
Cons: Service

You gotta try this clam chowder. It is without question the best we ever had. This was our first visit but we will be back. Had nothing to complain about except too much food. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Her name was Perri. I recommend you ask for her.
Pros: Perri
Cons: nada
