Great place to hookup after a tryst. My FWB and I love this little place right in the heart of Greenlake North of Seattle. During the fine spring and summer months, you can sit outside in the patio, people watch and feast on some Mahi tacos, crab cakes, and of course, Duke's famous chowder - even when the weather is warm, I fall prey to a hot bowl of their delicious chowder. Never fails!

Of course the bar and beer menu would be impressive to most denizens of Greenlake, but I feel compelled to subtract 1 star as I feel spoiled and do not indulge in any of their beer and wine selections. Why? I have this Chinese Caucasian waitress named Erin Korte from Ellensburg who supplied me with ample free beers and burgers from the Elysian Brewery on Capitol Hill after she got off shift. After clocking out of her shift, we'd usually meet up near the place I used to live on Capitol Hill. On occasions when her guy Chris Porcarelli was out of town or busy with one his pretentious metallic art projects, we'd usually make it a point to "meat" here close to their place and re-supply our spent sexual "energy" with some oysters, clams and mussels.

Since she only lives across the street from this place, this is a perfect meet up spot for our booty calls, although it is a somewhat risky location to grab a bite after one of our trysts. Normally common sense and logic would usually prevail when having a tryst and we'd choose a place across town away from prying eyes of friends and acquaintances but more often than not, our hunger after love making would get the better of us and we would come here with nervous anticipation jokingly muttering that the both of us

could get caught at any moment by The Cheaters television crew - with Chris Porcarelli and Joey Greco - a couple of Guidos - grilling us.

But that fear would be put aside and to the back of our minds by our ravenous hunger as we satisfy our palates with Duke's delicious seafood menu - and yes - it is true what is said about oysters and the libido - and no we don't sit out at the patio during our private little 'meating' times.

For couples needing that natual aphrodisiac (or as Erin used to joke when she would bring her black lovers here - 'Afro'disiac. (Why do you think Melissa Stephens lives with them. She has access to the brothas) But by all means, This place rocks - before and after making love!

Awesome Food and Gorgeous Waitresses!. We had lunch there yesterday and sat outside with some friends who were in from Phoenix. It was truly fabulous. The food was awesome, the service was outstanding and I must say . . . the waitresses were TOTALLY HOT! WOW! I can't wait to go back.

We really love sitting outside in the summertime.. We live in the Green Lake area and drove/walked past Duke's for about three years prior to actually going inside. We tend to eat pretty healthy and figured that a "chowder house" would not have anything to offer. After finally taking a gander at the menu one summer evening, we realized how wrong we were. We've since been back many times; we tend to enjoy Duke's at least once a month.

Some of the highlights of their menu are any of the fresh fishes as they are creative with their sauces and that's just a beautiful thing. One of my favorites is their Cobb salad topped with salmon...I return for that salad again and again.

While we enjoy the cozy nautical interior, especially the booths, we really love sitting outside in the summertime. It is a wonderful treat!

Good food, bad service. The food has always been as expected but the service can be horrible at times especially if you come in for their happy hour. A friend and I sat down at the bar in front of the TWO bartenders who both ignored us. Thereafter the service just got worse, there was a lot of waiting between ordering, getting the drinks, getting the food and getting the bill. The bartender serving us was very cold and paid very little attention to our requests-I had to ask for an item I ordered twice before it was brought out 10 minutes after I had ordered it. Overall I thought that if you had two bartenders servicing the small bar area it shouldn't take so long to get what you need to have a good meal.

my new favorite spot. You gotta try this clam chowder. It is without question the best we ever had. This was our first visit but we will be back. Had nothing to complain about except too much food. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Her name was Perri. I recommend you ask for her.
