In Short
In Spanish, Caffe Ladro means "coffee thief," and, as its name suggests, these neighborhood coffeehouses have clearly made off with a number of caffeine fans from the nearby chains. Customers toss their coats over their chairs and the regulars feel comfortable leaning over the counter to use the phone. A variety of pastries are available to munch with espresso drinks--a slice of deep dish fruit pie is a filling, if totally unhealthy, lunch.

The real draw here is great coffee and nice people. There used to be lines out the door buy now that Washington Mutual is gone, maybe not so much. And when it isn't crowded it is a great place to take a break with your coffee and a pastry treat.

Just a quick walk form the market or the bus, this Ladro is a breat stop for a morning bump. The espresso is done well as are the baked goods. The vegan oat bars are incredible!

usually, coffee shop's primary duty is to make great coffee, but at caffe ladro, it is more than that. not only is the coffee and the lattes served absolutely delicious. the food was endearing. i had one of the three quiches that they serve, and it was mouth-watering. and inside caffe ladro, it felt tranquil like you can relax and read a book. my boyfriend and i sat and read the stranger while sipping our coffee and latte and nibbling our quiche, and we had a very beautiful experience!
