Editorial Review for Tunel 21 – by Sarah Van Den Bosch
The Scene
Brick walls and low-ceilinged metalwork cozy up the urban edge of this bar and restaurant created by Ana Divac, wife of former Sacramento Kings player, Vlade Divac. Plush burgundy cushions warm the minimalist couches, while candlelight and dark wood further the inviting atmosphere. Young professionals come for after-work drinks or stay all night to schmooze and dance. Thursdays are jazz nights; Fridays and Saturdays are open for DJs and dancing.
The Draw
People show up to see celebrities; whether that actually happens is another story. A full menu of pizzas, pastas and upscale entrees such as rack of lamb and filet mignon is served until 11pm. Decently strong drinks, indifferent staff and hip, unobtrusive music don't hold the crowds, but the hope that Chris Webber will appear keeps a few hangers-on around. Its reputation for celeb appearances keeps the place alive, though the trendy and urban atmosphere is worth a try on its own.

I went by here recently only to find a note on the door. THis place has moved to Roseville and I dont know when it will be opening. This was a nice trendy hip place for the younger crowd. A bit crowded the times I have been there before. I you dont mind being in a crowded place just to hear DJ music than by all means look for the opening of the new location. Never been there for dinner so I cant comment on the food.

Cool place, crowd is for young ppl though. I been there a long time ago when they first opened and I am happy to have returned, the place is just as it was - prices are not so bad, I guess they lowered the prices of drinks but they are not serving full course dinners anymore..... it's 100% club and it gets real crowded till you can't walk, that is when you want to be in VIP room. Nice theme and decor, not the usual hole is the wall kind of place. If you want to have a blast, bring your troop or lots of company and $$.
