The Scene – Created by the owners of Capitol Hill's popular Elysian Brewing Company, TangleTown is the Elysian for the suburban crowd. Laid-back locals, many with children in tow, fill the wooden tables of this family-friendly brewpub. The space, which formerly housed the Honey Bear Bakery, includes an open, sunlit dining area, a behind-the-scenes brewery and a bar on the upper level. – – The Draw – Named after the jumble of streets crisscrossing its lower Green Lake neighborhood, TangleTown rewards those who can find it. The brewed-in-house ales include 16 Elysian…

DON'T GO

by KHK09 at Citysearch

Three of us went on a monday afternoon, it was pretty empty. They were out of at least 5 items on the menu. The food took about 25 minutes to arrive. My father had a flank steak with a salad. His plate had about four or five small strips of over cooked steak. It looked like a joke, we asked our very nice waitress if they accidently gave him half of an order and she said that is how it comes. The steak came with a head of iceberg lettuce cut in half and drenched in dressing. It was almost offensive. I had a bland veggie burger with an excellent ceaser salad. My brother had a Ham and Cheese melt that was "okay" as he said. I recommend just going for the beer. THe foodis not good and it takes way too long. i can't imagine how long it takes on a busy night.

Seasonal ales are the best

by spudsocks at Citysearch

Jasmine IPA gets me through the summer, I get so excited every fall when it's time for pumpkin ale, and then every winter when they roll out their dark brews. The rest of the beers are good, but the seasonal ones take the cake. You can get Elysian beer in stores, but it never compares to getting it on tap at one of their breweries. The food is average, the atmosphere is a little strange and disorienting (it doesn't seem complete somehow, like they never finished a remodel) but the beer's definitely worth the trip alone. And in the summer, when the big windows are open and there's a slight breeze, you can sit in the sun, watch joggers heading to Green Lake, sip your pint and think about how life is good.

  • Pros: Good beer
  • Cons: Average food

Great food, Awesome Bartenders!

by nslew at Citysearch

I had a chicken sandwich and the tomato basil soup-both were excellent, my date had the pulled pork dish. She was a bit suprised when it came out as a soupy dish- but loved it anyways! The service was fast AND funny- she had our table laughing the whole way through our meal. Their IPA is one of my favorites- crisp and hoppy. We will definately return.

  • Pros: Delicious beer/food- Personal/entertaining service
  • Cons: Parking
