Seattle >Artcore Studios Llp
Fantastic custom tattoo shop. I have been going to Artcore since its opening, having followed my artist there during a large piece. In the years since, I have had many great experiences at the shop and have recommended my friends to get their tattoos there. I and all of my friends have had great experiences and ended up with top quality tattoos. I couldn't be happier with my experience at artcore, and my only advice is to be open with your tattoo artist about what you really want, and if you don't like it, let it be known before they start permanently marking your body with it.
The best of the best and then some.
Seriously? I would have to imagine that the negative posts here are competitors. There is no way in HELL that these posts are genuine.
When we moved to Seattle, my boyfriend (at the time) did extensive research on shops here. He is heavily tattooed and I have two half sleeves. Our main priorities were to find a professional shop that took pride in custom work and was not relied upon flash. We were looking for hyper-realist artists and those who would apply their talent in creating one of a kind work. This is exactly what we found at ArtCore.
I couldn't be happier with the work that I received from Joby and my ex is nearly complete with his sleeve from
Christopher. We are VERY satisfied customers. I know that Joby has put up with a lot from me in what I had envisioned with my chest piece and I cannot be happier. He could see far beyond the first sitting and I am very glad I followed his lead and advice.
The shop is super relaxing and comfortable. There are not a lot of pedestrian walk-ins interrupting the artists and that is also very appealing to me. It is very chill. The shop also supports local artists in differing mediums.
The work is impeccable, unique and demonstrates amazing talent there. I wouldn't go anywhere else. These are intelligent dudes, reading difficult books and constantly aware of changing modernity.
Don't hate, haters.
These guys are the skid row of "Artist". During my Tattoo experience here I had asked my "artist" a question during the process. He stated the he is an artist and that he should know he is doing. If I had just walked away at that time! Instead I am stuck with a tattoo that is so muddy that the colors he picked make my arm look like a blue/green blob. The worst thing of all is that they will read this review, laugh and shrug it off. This is the mentallity you will deal with here. They need to decide if they want to be "artist" or stay home so they can take a "cig" break any time you want, and you can check your email any ole time you feel.
A great place to get a tattoo.. I would absolutly recommend Artcore. I've been tattooed by Christy twice, once at Artcore once at a previous shop. She's a total pro. Great artist, professional, personable, etc. The shop is attractive and clean, and while she's the only one who's worked on me, the other staff are friendly and helpful. All in all a great shop.
Do waste your time. You will be glad that you did..
I have had nothing but the best experiences at artcore tattoo studio and I have been getting tattoo's there for over 5 years.
After being introduced to them at the first seattle tattoo convention, I was amazed at the work that I saw and how nice they treated me in such a busy environment, that the next day I went to the shop and made an appointment for a tattoo. Nothing less than amazing !!!!!
When I venture down to georgetown and Artcore in particular, I am always greeted by a clean shop, new art in the gallery, and people who I can talk to about whatever ( if they are not tattooing and that is rare )
I do not know how the previous reviewer could have anything negative to say. Yes they are generally booked out a couple weeks, months even, but have always made time for a consult or a phone call letting me know when they are available.
Regardless, I have nothing negative to say at all about the shop, especially the artists.
If you really doubt the quality of work coming out of artcore, look at the website artcoreseattle dot com or just go down and look at the portfolio's.
I have, and will continue to get my work done there.
DO NOT waste your time. the name "artcore" implies that ART is at the core. These guys have NO work ethic, they will have an empty shop for days, and make an appointment for two weeks out. Their work is terrible, even at its best. The tattoo I received was too deep, and had to be reworked by another artist. Months later, It still looked like a giant, deep bruise all along my arm. I'd be surpised if anyone actually finished their apprenticeships. I KNOW their piercer has NOT completed his apprenticeship. They are all too busy browsing the internet to provide the service and support someone needs when shopping for tattoos. I would NEVER go to ArtCore again.
