Hot yoga in capital hill. While not my favorite hot yoga place definetely a step up from some I have been to recently. Thankfully it is hot and you do get very sweaty (perhaps even more sweaty than others). I even hear they recently got showers, although I have yet to check them out. Unfortunately the parking meters have changed and you now have to pay until 8pm. Even so you probably have to park a million miles away and may freeze to death on the walk back to the car. Plus finding parking is a huge hassle and if you are late, you cant go. Sadly this has happened to me, more than once. I dont care to touch sweaty naked people personally, so hopefully this has been remedied as well. Its traditional bikram and they have a good intro deal. Instructors are good. Smells slightly unpleasant and a little crowded, but its a good place to get some yoga done. I do prefer there other location in shoreline but I believe this one was built first, its nice they have two and passes are usable at both.

I love yoga at the SweatBox. The SweatBox is my favorite place to practice Bikram yoga. I love that now after their remodel there are showers at the capitol hill studio!! The instructors are all professional, consistent and excellent. The heat is right, the studio space is right and the energy of the place is right.

There's no other place I'd rather practice Bikram in Seattle.

This is the Best place to practice Bikram (Hot) Yoga!. The teachers at this studio have all been certified and teach this style of yoga with Passion and Compassion. I love the new dressing rooms at the Capitol Hill Studio complete with showers. This studio has great teachers, a very clean facility and a supportive atmosphere. I Deffinitely recommend this place.

Has gone downhill. I have been practicing Bikram since 2000 and going to this studio on and off since 2005 until last year. Simply put, the hygiene in this place isn't very good. The carpet is disgusting, it always smells of strong body odor, the changing rooms are way too cramped, there are no sinks for cleaning up or repairing your sweaty self after class much less showers. The teachers are hit and miss; some are excellent, some are bitchy and one of the owners doesn't look like she's actually done any yoga herself in years. This studio has kind of jury-rigged heating and it simply gets too hot. Oddly, some of the teachers appear to get some kind of perverse pleasure from this. One cranked it so high that people literally started passing out mid-pose during class, and afterward I was nauseous for two days. When people inquired about it, she snorted, "It's supposed to be hot." That same teacher told our class that "unless your recovering from knee surgery," everyone in the class should do an advanced version of a pose. When half the class didn't do it, she snidely commented "I guess a LOT of people are recovering from knee surgery."

What really made me leave them was that they sold my mat. They offer to let students leave their mats in the changing room but then randomly clear them out without informing anyone. I had my name and student number on mine, and yet they just sold mine with a whole group of others - no phone call, no email, no warning. I had been gone for three weeks due to a death in the family. I come back, no mat. "Sorry, it's been sold. Do you want to rent one, then?" Uh, no I'll go to another studio, thanks.

I've now practiced at about 14 different studios in various cities. I think this place started out with all the right intentions but it's really gone downhill. There are several terrific options for hot yoga in Seattle, this isn't one of them.

Sadly, Studios and Teachers like this Exist. Horrible! The studio and changing areas were filthy and in shambles with no shower area(?!). The studio was carpeted and smelled like a cross between wet dog and a sweaty armpit. A good teacher could have mitigated the short comings of the studio. Unfortunately, the instructor was horribly incompetent. She seemed to have no real understanding of the material, and only served as a talking head as she regurgitated a memorized script. I am active in many yoga communities in this country and abroad (Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong) and found this to be a truly bad experience. Sadly, studios and teachers like this exist. I would seek your yoga fix elsewhere.
