Issaquah >Moon Lodge Massage
Rude, nosey and just plain bad massage therapist.. All I wanted was to relax, instead i got more than I bargained for. I don't even know where to begin. The front desk person was nice but seemed preoccupied, which I think is normal for a younger person. While I was filling out the paperwork for my massage I could hear everything that was being said at the front counter, it was like they were standing right next to me. After informing the therapist of what I wanted (relax with very little work done) I am a homemaker but I do not live in the same location as my significant other, She asked me how I make my money, not sure how that fits into good ethics, I was shocked that anyone would even ask that question. She just likes to know how people make their money. She said she was going to do a japanese massage technique so she could break up all the adhesions. Not sure where relaxing falls into that but I wanted to be open minded about it but told her again that I just wanted to relax. It wasn't realxing at all in fact everything that she did was excruciating, probly the most painful massage I had ever had. I thought that massage therapists were supposed to be aware of the clients body actions, are they wincing, moving away, holding their breath or many other hints that the pressure is too much. I had to tell her several times that it was. It was like I got beat up on one side petted on the other and didn't even get to have the front done. She was running late, asked if 15 more min was okay,. Didn't realize that I was going to be charged for her not being able to keep track of the time. At the front desk she was there and put her arm around me, I wanted to scream, I am not one to like having people get right in my face and invade my personal space. I will never go back and I highly reccomend that nobody else go back either, not even for a first time. It was so bad that I cried all the way back home it was horrible and even tho I drank water out the gazzooo I was in horrible pain for several days.
Knowledgeable Staff. When I first arrived I had to wait outside for 15 min or so because the door was locked. There was a sign on the door to call but when you called it you got a voice mail. I almost left but then the therapist came out to finally unlock the door. Once I was inside it was better. I tried a Cranio Sacral massage. It was relaxing but I don't think I would try it again. I would consider going again to try a Swedish massage.
Why is the door locked?. One look at the place and I moved on. It's a dump. The tattered temporary sign and LOCKED front door don't bespeak a positive atmosphere. Where do they get off calling themselves a LODGE? It's a tacky corner of a strip mall. Places offering such personal and sensitive services need to be open and visible and welcoming. I'm glad I checked it out before committing or worse yet, buying a gift certificate for my mom. That would have been very embarassing.
Relaxing with moments of ???. Tried a completely relaxing spa treatment that included a rejuvenating European Facial and a foot and hand "reflexology". It's just a glorified foot and hand massage, they don't know how to do true reflexology. I needed to kickstart my sense of well-being to prepare for the onset of winter, and the facial was a great start!! Staff seems to change frequently, so beware. Odd front desk arrangement where post-it notes are all over. My first appt was on a post-it, never got to the scheduling calendar, so I had to be rebooked to another date when I arrived.
amazing therapists. the massage I received was by far the most amazing massage. I have had many in the past but none have had the same effect for me. Thanks Moon Lodge!!
