Editorial Review for The Elliott Bay Cafe – by Anna Roth
In Short
Located underneath Elliott Bay Books in the cave-like space of what was once the Pioneer Square Underground, this hip cafe welcomes Seattle's literary population with open arms. Caffeinated options include espresso and a serious selection of teas, including yerba mate and Morning Glory chai. Breakfast and lunch choices include granola with milk, bagels with cream cheese, a daily soup special, assorted sandwiches and a large case stocked with vegan and non-vegan baked goods.

Feed your mind, feed your body at this cafe located downstairs at the Elliott Bay Book Co. A bit of history as well as you can see the built up street from after the Great Seattle Fire of the 1880's. Great desserts and hot & cold beverages. Good sandwiches & salads. A meal or a snack, before or after games or if you're just sightseeing in the Pioneer Square District.
Pros: Good food, author readings, historic location
Cons: Parking can be expensive, self service
