This sleek room serves up first rate, fresh, affordable sushi in a casual setting. Grab a seat at the long sushi bar or the splendid outdoor patio which overlooks Lake Union.
Lost it's Japanese authenticity.
Maybe it's just the Lake Bellevue 3rd restaurant but I Love Sushi has lost it's Japanese authenticity!
The quality of the sushi was very disappointing. The menu is uncreative & americanized. The Decor was sad looking and poor. Our service was OK, the staff tried to do what they could with what they had. We will NOT return. Again, VERY disappointing.
Not fresh.
Sushi can be absolutely wonderful when freshly made and served immediately. I ordered eel, which should be broiled and served immediately. We ordered several other sushi rolls, such as salmon skin rolls, which also should be prepared and served immediately.
Our order was delivered to our table very quickly and it was obviously - immediately that most of it was made well before we had even arrived. The objective of this restaurant is to serve quickly and get folks in and out - not serve freshly prepared sushi.
Don't recommend - also noisy. Many better sushi restaurants in Wallingford.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND - WELL BELOW AVERAGE.
Nice location, good sushi. Lake Union location surrounded by several restaurants. The parking lot is a validated lot so be sure to ask the receptionist to validate your ticket. The restaurant is about a third sushi bar with a large sushi menu. Service was prompt and frequent. The sushi was very nicely presented. Tasted fresh and the special menu were plentiful. I?ve had several items on the menu and was never disappointed. Only thing I would like is a larger restruant.
Awesome sushi.. I Love Sushi has yet to disappoint me with the quality of their sushi. Sit at the sushi bar and order omakase for the best experience. Hands down some of the best sushi I've ever had.
Great Sushi Restaurant!!!. I really don't care for sushi, I cant get over the texture, but my sushi loving boyfriend convinced me to go to I Love Sushi with him and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly, they sushi is so fresh and there are many options. As a non-sushi eater I enjoyed the yaki soba and vegie tempura both of which were delicious. They also have a terrific bar and the view of Lake Union is gorgeous!
Sushi comes quickly and exquisitely fresh at this bustling restaurant..
In Short
Expect to find bustling, bright, high-energy sushi bars with exquisite, bargain-priced fish and a friendly, helpful staff. Fresh, bright options include intensely fresh maguro tuna and sweet, cool shrimp. Daring diners could try the sea urchin, though its yellowish, tongue-like appearance is difficult to overlook. Excellent hot dishes include flame-broiled fish cheeks, tempura and chawan mushi (a steamed custard that is the ultimate in Japanese comfort food).
Surprisingly Good. It seems this place has been around forever. It has always struck me as the kind of sushi place that is probably less than authentic, not a true Edo styled sushi bar. A recent visit, however, revealed top notch toro and other seasonal favorites such as Spanish mackerel and Japanese baby hamachi. There are other hot dishes as well but don't expect the same type of menu you might see at a full scale Japanese restaurant. Sushi is clearly the focus here.
Seasonal Favorites. One of the few places in town that often has fresh Toro on the menu. Sit at the bar and get to know the chef, order sushi how it's made to order: ask them what they recommend and the freshest fish of the day. The biggest flaw that most sushi lovers make is always ordering what they love - whether it is in season or not. There are 3 types of Maguro they consistently keep at hand of different textures and richness. Ask for more details, depending on how rich you prefer the fat layers to be (hint: do you always order the same cut of steak?). The Spanish mackerel served with Ponzu sauce is a delight to experience, when at peak perfection. The Hamachi is like butter. Venture out of the tables and create a relationship with the chef, the way it should be and you won't be disappointed.
go for lunch.... not overly expensive in general, but the lunch combos are a great value! you get about the same amount of food as for dinner but at almost half the price.
Great Food Excellent Service!. A Rare Find. Great Sushi, Friendly service. My friends and I have visited both Bellevue and Lake Union but prefer the ambiance of the Lake Union location. All staff members are efficient, knowledgable and friendly. Favorite menu items are Sashimi Salad (awesome display and flavor), Tuna Tataki and sesame crusted oysters. great happy hour value. Sometimes a wait but well worth it. Make reservations.
