BEST PESTO. I LOVE their Penne Al Pesto at La Vita E Bella!! It's hard for me to get anything else. But I have tried the paninis and the veal scallopine and they are just as amazing. The service staff is extremely helpful and extremely nice.
So YUM!. Now I know what real Italian food tastes like! Never before have I ever wanted to take pieces of bread to sop up the sauce that was left on my plate. And even after I did that, I wanted to lick my plate clean!!! Service was very friendly and excellent! I want to come here again and again.
Delicious authentic Sicilian food in Seattle.
I eat at this restaurant weekly, and I have NEVER been disappointed. Even with take out, my food is always perfect. Try the nightly specials, they are WONDERFUL. (Especially the Halibut Risatto, yum) One of my favorite pizza options is the Buffala; with sliced tomatoes, and real Buffalo mozzarella. For dessert, DON'T miss the Tiramisu.
They also have a great weekly happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30, and again from 9:30 to close, featuring $2 draft beers (Moretti on tap!) and $3 wines. For $3 to $4, you can get appetizers like mozzarella and tomato slices topped with fresh basil leaves and drizzled with olive oil.
Good food, inconsistent service. We've been to your restaurant twice. The first time was a wonderful experience; the food was as good as North Beach in San Fransico and our server was awesome. This weekend we came back w/our friends from Portland. Again the food was very good, but the service was poor. The young woman who served us was friendly, but inattentive and unprofessional. We sat for some time w/out being greeted (she was folding napkins), left our bottle of wine on the table unopened for another length of time (she disappeared and we thought she was getting our wine glasses, but saw her a few minutes later taking a food order at another table). No one likes to feel ignored, but unfortunately we felt that way a couple times during our evening and it's worse when you're hosting friends; you want the experience to be good for all.
My Weekly Haunting Grounds. I LOVE this restaurant! We go there every Thursday and always have a fabulous experience. David is usually our waiter and he's marvelous. The specials are always tasty (although usually much more expensive than the menu items, I agree), and I especially love the gnocchi. The pizzas and pastas are all homemade and fabulous! The wine list is also very good (all Italian wines). If you're in the Belltown area and looking for Italian at a moderate price (dinners are $14-$28, thereabouts), definitely head for La Vita E' Bella. You'll love it!
Closest thing to real Italian pizza in this city!. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. It it by far the closest to real authentic Italian pizza in the city. They also make their own olive oil and fabulous pesto from their region in Italy and have it sent here for all of us to enjoy! the calamari with pesto is the best I've had since I've been in the Cinque Terre, where pesto originated. The service is always pleasant and prompt. Anyone that could give this place a bad reveiw obviously has no taste buds or sense of what truly good food is!
great food. The pizza here is the most authentic italian pizza i've had since Naples. I come back time and time again just for the pizza.
Stay home. The food was better than the service that was bad at best. My advise stay at home. food, service, price all were very poor.
Worst Italian Food in the City.
By far the worst Italian Restaurant in Seattle city limits!
The wine didn't come until we went up to the bar to ask for it, and they still brought us the wrong wine.
Our appetizers never came, on top of that, the specials were twice as much as a regular entree ($17.00) and the food tasted like it had been re-heated and wasn't filling.
When our bill finally came (about half an hour after asking for it!) they had charged us for our appetizer. It was clear that the waitress did not believe us and only after a long discussion with the manager did they agree to take the food off the bill.
I do not feel the service was intentionally bad, but only a case of neglect. However, when I spend over $100.00 on a meal I expect to be treated like a guest and not an intruder.
Superb Pizza. I really love this very Italian style pizza, and it's reasonably priced, too. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the staff is friendly although occasionally a little absent-minded. The pizza is unique in the city, and frankly I can't recall ever having this type of pizza in any city before. I love good American style pizza but this may just be the best. I also have ordered some excellent appetizers here. Overall this place is great and I'm very glad it's in the neighborhood.
