The Scene – Red walls, velvet curtains and '50s vintage lamps make this Phinney neighborhood haunt comfortable in a funky way. Owner Erin Fetridge welcomes guests warmly, and there's a wait only on weekend nights, when the gracious waitstaff is overextended. – – The Food – Dishes highlight local, seasonal ingredients with simple, savory preparations and generous portions. A nicely dressed beet salad or savory curry mussels are meals in themselves, and roasted cauliflower with foraged mushrooms and a toasted walnut vinaigrette is a great primer for more to come. Local…

Still Great Lamb

Used to go a bunch before the owner switch over. Loved the atmosphere and the food was clean, rich yet simple, and overall great.
Went here last week and I was very pleased. Service was solid and the lamb was still very tender and rich. Wine selection is still top notch.
Excellent for special occasions

My husband and I were in town from Portland for our anniversary and had researched dinner spots ahead of time. On a Sunday evening, it was quiet, but the staff was still attentive and very pleasant. The food was above and beyond our expectations. For the level of service and quality of the food, we would have expected, and have in the past, paid twice as much at bigger name restaurants. To say we had an excellent dining experience is an understatement and Stumbling Goat may just entice us to make the drive north again sometime!
- Pros: Food, service, dollar value
- Cons: none
excellent from start to finish

I love to eat but i hate to cook. I feel fortunate that i live in a city that has a lot of great places to eat. I have never written about a restaurant before but i feel compelled to write about "the goat". Often times i go out to eat and there is one course that doesn't measure up to the rest. I have never felt that way at the stumbling goat. Every bite that i put in my mouth is delicious, seasoned without being over engineered, interesting with out ostentation, it is down town food in an easy to get to, casual & comfortable room.
The salads are great, the entrees are as well, the cheese plate is my favorite in town and changes often and the desserts are to die for. I always feels welcomed by the staff and owners and Cheeto in particular is attentive, knowledgeable and fun. There i said it! Great service and killer food.
- Pros: great food every time
Tasty Americana!

We had the most amazing hanger steak -- always go with the chef's recommendation: medium rare.
Top to bottom -- a good experience! They treat their people well and it shows in the food and the service.
I'd go back any time of the week, except Mondays -- they're closed.
- Pros: Food, wind selection, local farms, organic, tasty
- Cons: Only one problem, my stomach is too small.
Great Job Stumbling Goat!!!

My friend and I had the perfect meal at Stumbling Goat. She had the braised rabbit and I had the tenderloin which was served with fig - my fav! The new owners of the Stumbling Goat are doing great things with the menu, featuring the foods of the season and incorporating these seasonal fruits, vegtables throughout the menu. I'll have to come back soon before the Sugar Pie Pumpkin Risotto is gone. Yum! I love fall foods!
- Pros: seasonal and organic ingredients from local farms
