We waited a couple of days and not having heard from the owner as promised, we reattached the tags and found the receipt (which states ?EXCHANGE IN 2WKS W/RECIEPT & TAGS ATTACHED) and headed in.

After some discussion with the unpleasant sales girl, I asked to speak to the owner. The salesgirl called the owner at which time I tried to explain the situation. The owner took the stance that any problems with the merchandise were obviously not her problem. She sells quality merchandise and my daughter must have caused the damage. I asked her to reconsider as I?ve done business in her store before and this issue was leaving a poor impression and good reason not to return. The owner responded to this that she was okay with that as I was obviously not the type of customer she wanted.

I wish I had responded with this at the time but upon thinking about it, the response should have been the following:

Of course she doesn?t want a customer like myself. I insist on quality merchandise for my hard earned money. She wants to sell low quality merchandise for premium prices and doesn?t want to stand by her products. I am certainly not the kind of customer she wants.

If only this site had Black Eyes and Gold Stars! I feel they've given me a black eye and this is my attempt at returning the favor.

I have purchased from Trendy Wendy a few times over the course of time I have lived on Capitol Hill. My 12 year old daughter loves Sanrio "Hello Kitty" merchandise and Trendy Wendy carries a lot that I have not seen elsewhere.

I purchased a couple of items for this Christmas for my daughter from Trendy Wendy on 12.15.2007. I took home an adorable ?Hello Kitty? handbag manufactured by "Lounge Fly" and some berets. Upon returning home I wrapped up the gifts and awaited my daughter?s arrival from out of state.

My daughter arrived on 12.26.2007 late in the day and unwrapped her gifts. She loved the handbag I had found not having seen another like it.

On the 27th, we set out to use some of the gift cards given to her by other family and friends. She retrieved the handbag and put a couple items in it such as her MP3 player, a little lip gloss, the gift cards, and some cash. We went to lunch, Best Buy, and Target, and ended up having Pho on Broadway for dinner. At Pho, we noticed the handbag?s liner was falling away from the clasp.

Figuring this bag had only been in use for a couple of hours and our proximity to Trendy Wendy, we would stop in and see if they were willing to exchange the defective merchandise. My daughter and my girlfriend popped in the door and quickly came back out quite upset with the way they had been treated upon asking for some assistance. I asked what was up and was told about the rude treatment they had received. I quickly contacted the store via phone and asked them to reconsider their approach. I was informed we didn?t have the receipt or the tags with us and besides, they do not accept returns or exchanges on purses. I was informed the sales girl was not empowered to help but that my contact information would be forwarded to the owner who would contact me.

Great stuff at really great prices. I love the jewelry and purses and am very happy to see this store carries fun plus size clothing. I just wish it was bigger so they could carry more! Also, I have never had a problem with the staff. They are helpful without being intrusive. When I shop I just want someone there to help but not to be in my face distracting me.

I Can't Live Without This Store!

I totally disagree with the other post - I've always found the girls here always helpful, but know when to leave me alone in a shopping binge. I like that the clothes are cheaper than the same things at Bebe, Arden B, or Savvy - sometimes I've been able to save more than $50 on a top - that is a HUGE bonus for me. The accessories are Vogue up the minute - and sometimes stuff you can't find other places in Seattle anyways! And I've never left the store without a smile after a rough day! THANK YOU TRENDY WENDY!
