Authentic Taiwanese food comes to Wallingford with this casual neighborhood restaurant.
This place is Disgusting!!!!

My boyfriend and I were excited to find a cute hole in the wall place in the Wallingford neighbord. We were soooo disappointed. We got the Taiwanese meatball, a noodle dish, the duck speciality, and a Taiwanese soda. I've never been so disappointed. We tried all of the dishes but didn't eat more than a couple of bites of everything. We kept a positive attitute and got the left-overs to go. After we left the restaurant, we both admitted we hated that place and threw the leftovers away.
Despite the bad service and tacky and dirty atmosphere, we left a decent tip. My boyfriend keeps all of his receipts and keeps track of the amount of the tip he leaves. He was shocked when he got the credit card bill and saw the waiter must have changed the tip line because his card was charged $5 more than it should have been. I will NEVER go back.
For a great Asian restaurant in Wallingford, try Jhanjay instead.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Gross food, dirty atmosphere, bad service
Love.

If you want authentic Taiwanese cuisine that is delicious, affordable and LOCAL - run, don't walk to the Rocking Wok! The thousand layer pancake is carb-heaven. Obsessed. My husband and I finished off the entire serving by ourselves! I know, I know - mongolian beef is everywhere, but again, I am obsessed. All the dishes we have ever ordered are great. They also do take-out and though we have moved out of the neighborhood, we will gladly drive over to pick up their food!
- Pros: Always open, always parking
Authentic and Priced Right!

My Brother-In-Law lived in Taiwan for two years, and wanted to visit a restaurant with Taiwanese cuisine while he was in Seattle. Rocking Wok was a delightful surprise! Apparently, it is totally authentic. My husband and I have been back numerous times since our first visit, and have never been disappointed.
It is a typical "hole-in-the-wall" (ie- the cleanliness of the place leaves a little to be desired); but the food MORE than makes up for it!
My husband could eat an entire serving of Ginger Beef himself; and I LOVE the Delightful Green Beans. When we have been there the dishes we ordered have been delivered to our table one at a time; but this is because they are being made fresh-to-order! This place is such a treat!
- Pros: Delicious Food, Ample Parking, Bargain Priced
- Cons: Cleanliness
