What People Are Saying About Johnny Rockets

In Short – Vintage Coca-Cola ads and posters of Life magazine covers succinctly summon up the 1950s, as do this diner's mini-jukeboxes, red vinyl counter stools and sock-hopping staff. Besides fast food staples like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, tuna melts and onion rings, options like the Streamliner (a grilled veggie patty) acknowledge more modern dietary concerns. Even better for kids, sandwiches come wrapped in paper jackets and nearly everything is served on paper plates. No spills. No breaks. No tears.

Avoid on principle

by Mehri at Citysearch

After finding an industrial staple in my hamburger, and the crappy treatment I got after complaining to corporate, I will never set foot in Johnny Rockets again. As a way to make up for it, they sent me a $5 certificate, which didn't even pay for the burger. Basically, Robert (president?) didn't believe me, as they couldn't figure out where the staple could have possibly come from...funny, because I found another in with the napkins that were placed in my bag. Still have them. I should have sued you, but that's not my way. Sometimes, Robert, people are honest about finding things in their food. Too bad you couldn't take responsibility and try to make it right. You lost a customer.

Best 50s themed restaurant

by ashwhit at Citysearch

This is a fun restaurant to take your family because it brings back memories from yesteryear, but is also a great environment. The dancing waiters and swing music puts everyone in a good mood and they even make homemade vanilla coke. The grilled cheese with a cup of clam chowder is my usual, but burgers and onion rings are also worth ordering.

  • Pros: great theme
  • Cons: they run out of clam chowder often
