What People Are Saying About Rob Roy

The Scene – Seductively lit, upholstered in leather (or a close facsimile), and handsomely stocked with Dom Perignon and other more affordable top-shelf pours, the Rob Roy has class, or at least some retro, Rat Pack version of it. Hordes of well-dressed professionals head here straight from the office; hipsters--lured in no small part by the fact that the bar is in the heart of Belltown's club row--dominate as the night wears on. – – The Draw – Seattle is low on spots to see and be seen, a void filled with haughty assurance by the Rob Roy. Best Old Fashion I've ever had!

This place is the room that every man wishes he had in his house. the staff was great, and the drinks where better. cant wait to go again.
Sexy Little Cocktail Spot
by jas19 at Citysearch
Rob Roy is one of the best spots in Seattle for a great cocktail. No overtly sweet appletinis here (thank god!). The mood is smoldering and sexy with black leather seating and interesting decor. I honestly can't tell that big of a difference from Viceroy to Rob Roy except now the drinks are better. Great after dinner spot for amazing drinks!
Why change something that works?
by SkySurfer at Citysearch
I've been going to Rob Roy (Viceroy) from time to time for the last couple of years. I don't mind change, as long as its for the better.
I asked them why they changed the name and the decor. The reason: because they wanted to be a more upscale place. What was wrong with the not-so-upscale?
Not quite sure how going for Van Gogh (old painting) to psychedelic helps that much. They also moved from being a relaxed, fun, lets hang out kind of place to a more serious, lets get in and get out kind of place.
I still think it's one of the better places in Belltown, I just find it unfortunate the vibe changed for the worse.
- Pros: Cheap Drinks, DJ
- Cons: Awkward layout
Viceroy, New and Improved???
by caveman986 at Citysearch
I've been a Viceroy regular for almost 2 years now and until recently enjoyed almost everything about this bar....Sleek, swanky decor, awesome friendly staff, unique drink menu...Lately, I'm not so sure. First the decor took a turn for the worst - Not sure what's up with all the tacky psychadellic artwork, but it really is hideous...then some of the best bar/waitstaff in town disappeared. Sadly, between the changes in ambience and recent employee turn-over, Viceroy just isn't the same place it used to be. I think time to find a new happy hour hangout : (
Was Great, now I'm not so sure.

I've been a semi-regular to this bar since they opened almost 5 years ago. I even reserved the place 2 years ago for my 30th B-day party and it was awesome! The staff is great, The drinks are great, and a atmosphere USED to be great.
Now I'm not sure if I can bring dates or even friends here anymore. Why the remodel??? What's up with the sh!tty 80's black light hippy art? I loved the whole sleek dark James Bond style. Now it's just some stoner's cheap poster collection. I'll miss you viceroy.
- Pros: Staff, Drinks
- Cons: Bad Remodel
