Editorial Review for Jewel of India – by Anna Roth
In Short
This sparse room in the northern blocks of the Ave plays host to students, faculty and professors every weekday chowing down on the varied Indian buffet, stocked with dishes from saag paneer to butter chicken. Traditional Indian music, scattered paintings and photographs set an exotic-yet-comfortable atmosphere. At dinner, low lighting transforms the space into a cozy restaurant serving tandoori dishes, dosas, Thali dinner platters and chicken, lamb, seafood and vegetable curries.

Went to this place in the U-district and it was great. It had friendly and speedy service. The food was delicious. The Naan bread particularly warm and tasty. Also, they offer free delivery and the food is always warm when it arrives (i love that :D)

So, I go into this simple Indian place in the UDistrict for lunch- I get seated right away, offered the menu or the all you can eat buffet. Of course, I head for the buffet! Frankly, I was surprised- the food was great, and those samosa things were delicious! It's about as plain as plain can be as far as decor, but the food more than makes up for it! Highly recommended!
Pros: tasty food, good prices
Cons: udistrict parking
