Lies, Lies and more lies. STAY AWAY!!. DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS STORE!! Lies, lies and more lies. This place is bad news.

The sales people will charm you during your visit with their friendly attitude, but DO NOT buy anything here and whatever you do, don’t ever, ever buy anything that requires a special order. I had a horrendous experience similar to the numerous other reviews you can read online. The staff is nice before you place an order, but afterwards they tell nothing byt lies. Here’s my tale:

My search for dining room chairs led me to Habits for the Home and I really enjoyed speaking with salesperson Maddy and designer Mona. After a little negotiation, they beat the price of one of their competitors and offered me free delivery and setup. I placed the order by phone a day after my visit and was told both days that the delivery time was 4-6 weeks. I checked in with them at the 4-week and 6-week marks. At 6-weeks, I was told that they were waiting for a shipment date from Amisco, the chair company. That happened three more times until I lost patience after waiting 9 weeks and not getting any information. I was told that there was no way the salesperson gave me a 4-6 week timeframe and the actual wait was 8-12 weeks. I asked them to get me a shipment date from the manufacturer and they refused and said “Why don’t you just expect that the delivery will be here in 8-12 weeks.” Yeah right! Why should I trust them?! They also never sent me a copy of the receipt even after numerous requests. After informing them that I had disputed the charge with my credit card company, they refused to speak with me. After waiting 9 weeks, I had to start all over a place the order with a different store.

The worst service I have ever experienced in retail - $2000. I bought leather dining room chairs in April. When the six chairs arrived, two were half the size of the others. Mona, the store manager, claimed that when they were ready to be delivered, she realized their were two that weren't the same size, so she still charged me and thought I could use the others til they custom ordered two chairs that matched. I also never got a receipt from my Visa c ard and had call several times to get the receipt. I called several times over a period of 9 months to find out the order status. Finally spoke with Sean, acting manager in lieu of the owner. Today the chairs I arrived- 9 months later, and are two short chairs that don't match the others. They also got the address wrong- I waited six hours and they didn't show. Then the chairs were dropped off at 7 PM ...wrong size! Plus I have paid for these chairs. I would NEVER recommend anyone purchase at this store. I have been told several times the shipment was on its way. But then to have it arrive 9 months later AND the wrong size and to have paid for these, is inexcusable. Linda Lander I will be contacting Better Business Bureau if they don't take back the 4 chairs that I have had since April, unable to get 2 chairs for a matching set of six. I would never want 4 chairs for a dining room that needs six.

Bad Habit. Purchased leather sofa and delivery in Bellevue on July 17th. After a few days I hadn't heard anything so I called. The person I spoke to couldn’t help me. The manager called me and said I should receive it soon. Called the store a few days later when I hadn't heard back. Told they couldn't find my receipt and that I needed to speak someone else. Nobody called me back. My husband went to the store on July 26th to get a refund since we hadn't gotten a straight answer. The store wasn't open but my husband spoke to someone in the warehouse. The employee apologized and my husband left thinking we might get the delivery soon. I received a call from the manager 4 days later. She told me that she understood there was some confusion about our sofa. At that time she told me I could get my money back. The next day I traveled to the Bellevue store but it was closed even though it was supposed to be open. Called the store with no answer. They operate an espresso stand downstairs, so I asked them. Barista said she didn't know when they would be open but she would call someone. A girl came upstairs who was the same person who sold me the sofa. I told her that I would like to get a refund. The girl led me into the dark store and left me to wait while she made phone calls from the back. She finally came out of the back and gave me her cell phone with the manager on hold. The manager told me that it was against their policy to give me a refund but she would do so in this case. She insisted that I give her my card number and security code over the phone - this was the only way she could process it. I refused, and she laughed at me saying "people do this all of the time!” I decided if it was the only way to get the refund, I would do it. The Barista then led me out of the store locked up again. I left without a receipt of what just happened. I went to the Roosevelt store to talk to the manager in person. I asked for a paper receipt of the refund and she refused - it was against their corporate policy. After I objected she said that we would get a refund. She then called my husband and I crazy and the worst customers she's ever had. We left without a refund transaction and have filed a dispute claim with our bank to get our money back. I've had to file complaints with the BBB and the WA state Attorney General.

Bad customer service!. We purchased a loveseat from this store and requested extra firm cushioning. We got what they call 'extra firm' and it was so soft we sink down into the seat. Worst piece of furniture I've experienced. (I only weigh 110lbs!)

The customer service and General Manager are no help and will not return any calls. They 'promised' that they would replace the cushioning with commercial grade and we haven't heard from them since!

Would not buy from any of their stores again!

Customer is always treated like DIRT. We made a purchase of over $3000 at this store in May 2005 and were told our items would be delivered within 8-12 weeks. It has been 16 weeks now and still NO delivery. Our items have been recieved by the store, but the head of deliveries have treated us HORRIBLY, including yelling at my fiance on the phone. We even went into the store to try to work with the Manager and she could do nothing. We have requested a call from the owner and thus far have hear nothing. This is absolutely the worst experience either of us have ever had with a purchase.

My advice: go to a store that actually treats you like they value your business and not like a nuissance.
