Lynnwood >Detroit Auto Works
This place sucks! This was my first dealership purchase back in 2006, super pushy, don't know anything about the cars, took advantage of me not knowing what I was doing. They sold me a 2000 Subaru GT Wagon with 98,000 miles. As I was driving it home, I stopped to get gas. Well, when I took off again and turned the wheel hard, the car stalled. Weird, and of course now I am freaking out! Drive home was 1 hour+.
When I got home, I noticed going through neighborhoods that it would make a thump thump thump whenever I turned a corner. That's odd. The next morning I go to work and no sound. Turns out the car has to be on the road for about 20 minutes to warm up before you hear the sound, which is why I didnt hear it during the test drive. So I take it back to them, they say it is the CV joints. I told them it started doing this on the way home, but to bad. My problem now. I take it to an actual Subaru dealer and it has a bad viscous coupler, which is about $1800 or so that I didn't have.
Also, the day after I buy it, I open the hatch and the carpet/plastic cover falls off. And, turns out the car had been in an accident. I should have insisted on a carfax, but I was young and naive.
Anyways, this other reviewer saying its an amazing dealership...seems pretty sketchy to me. He doesn't discuss an actual experience, just their inventory and that they are now partners with BECU.
Bottom line?? STAY AWAY!!!!!
AMAZING DEALERSHIP!!. they have everything from a simple car to a collecters car to a big truck limos to boats snow mobiles to quads rvs to golf carts! this place is crazy! ive bought many cars through out my life and if i buy any more ill be returning to detroit auto works. it really was a grat car buying experience. BECU is now partners with them and they have brought in some cool cars
