I sprained my knee and was told to go
here for an MRI. A sprained knee is pretty simple and can be done in 15 minutes, but it ended up (in total) taking about 4 hours. Some people are nice, mostly when they're making you wait. Overall I felt mistreated. Here are the highlights.
DELAYED APPOINTMENT - without advanced notice
I was told when I arrived that they were late and they'd like to push my appt back 2 hrs. They did give me a starbucks gift card as compensation. They had a stack of them behind the desk, telling me this happens a lot.
UNPLEASANT M.R.I. - rude lady & audio terrorism
The technician was cold, abrupt (almost rude). The headphones I wore pumped crappy AM gospel music into my ears along with random static crackles, like a walkie talkie. This was extremely disruptive and made it hard to focus on keeping still. I had to redo the MRI twice making the experience last nearly an hour. The lady woud radio into my headphones every once in a while and scold me for twitching. Nice.
"GREAT. NOW GET OUT" - no doctor, no post consultation, just waiting
The doctor that sent me there specifically told me not to leave until talking to the radiologist (the 3 of us were supposed to have a phone conference). I had to stop them from rushing me out the door and remind them of this. They told me the radiologist was in a simple "10 minute procedure". They'd come back and several times to say "it'll be another 35 minutes". After waiting for 90 minutes I gave up. It was 4:30.
They did however give me a disc with my images and software to view them. With it I could use the mouse-wheel to go THROUGH my leg and see every minut detail. Disgusting and awesomely beautiful. Totally cool.
Other than the CD this place feel way short of the average medical experience.
