Fun place!. I'm surprised how bad these reviews are. We enjoyed a great meal and good service. The place was packed but didn't wait too long for a table. Menu has LOTS of choices, waitress helped us pick. Started with chips and salsa which were yummy but not worth $4.95. The pineapple salsa was a first for me and liked it better then the pico which was watery. I got the Chicken Cordon Blue and DH got fish & chips. The portions were huge and fresh. The interior is very trendy/hip... we want to come back for late night happy hour, has potential for hopping atmosphere.

Great happy hour, carnitas, Great service. I walked into Cayenne after class one day to find a lively bar atmosphere and a happy hour from 3:30-6:30 every day! Half price apps and drink specials is exactly what a student is looking for. I had the carnitas, wings and a couple of beers on draft and everything was great. Hot food, great conversation with the bartender, warm atmosphere. I defiantly will be back!

Never again. Have you ever been to a hotel restaurant and had the married bar manager try to get you to go to a room with him? My girlfriends and I were sitting at the bar a few days ago, and the bartender was nice. Drinks were OK. We just got appetizers, and they were alright. Nothing to write home about. But then Anthony, the bar manager, starts talking to us, and he starts flirting with us pretty hard. I guess he gets free hotel rooms as a perk of the job, and he actually suggested that he get a room and we all go party there. He said that he does it all the time. At first, we sort of played along, although we would never have done it in a million years, but then I look at his ring finger and he has his wife's name TATTOOED on it. She must be a smart lady who knows her husband well--she made sure that he couldn't take that off. I asked him about it, and he gave me some story about how she was a veteran and she was damaged and that if he never cheated on her, how his life would be pretty empty. But he stayed with her because she needed him and would be nothing without him. I almost believed him, but then some blonde girl came in and diverted his attention. It seemed like she worked there because she knew everyone and she helped herself to things behind the counter without notice. They hugged and whispered some things just out of our earshot, but they looked pretty intimate, and then they disappeared together for a while. When he came back she was no where to be found, and he started to flirt with us again, as if we hadn't just figured out that he was 1. Married and 2. Just making out with his girlfriend in his office. We weren't sure if we should be disgusted or amused at his stupidity. He tried to buy our check for us, but we refused. We paid and left, and thanked god that he was not our husband. Bottom line: Only go to this restaurant if you want to get picked up by creepy managers who will ruin your mood. I will not be returning.

Don't Bother. I have been to Cayene 3 times mainly because it's close to work. I will not be returning. I absolutely LOVE mexican food but there is nothing authentic about their food or selection. Pet peeves regarding Cayene...salsa that is bland, beans and rice are tasteless, most of the meat has no seasoning at all, the drinks seem watered down. Word of advice: PASS IT UP!

One of the worst meals I've had in a LONG time. My father (we're Mexican-American) always said you can judge a Mexican restaurant by the rice and beans. In doing so, I can unequivocally say Cayenne is terrible! The rice was mushy and not fresh, their taste was even worse. The beans were over-seasoned, and despite looking good, were awful. I had the chicken tacos and they were also uninspired. The restaurant was very stingy with the guacamole! My companion had the pulled port sandwich which was lackluster to say the most. The garlic fries were ample and had TONS of garlic - so if that floats your boat, have the garlic fries and a beer - then walk someplace else for the rest of your meal!

Mediocre. Food is not that great. With a name like Cayenne, I was expecting some more exciting dishes, but was surprised to find a lot of burgers and other "American" dishes. Tried the fish tacos and nearly on the bones that were left in. Not good times....

Beautiful with very average food. We ordered a fantastic spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. I ordered fish tacos and my husband ordered steak. The $16.95 steak was tiny and served with a few green beans and a squash lump underneath. My fish tacos were ok but didn't come with guacamole. After my family had almost finished eating, the waiter finally returned and I asked for the guacamole. He said it doesn't come with it so I asked for some on the side. When he eventually brought it back he said he made a mistake and that it was supposed to have come with the meal. By the time all this transpired, the family was done eating and my fish was cold. I ate a few bites and gave up. The kids meals were generous, but expensive. I hate paying $6.75 for a hamburger and french fries that my 5 year old will eat 1/4 of.

Cayenne? How about Sour Cream?. Put it this way... the salsa wasn't even hot! How do they get away with calling this place Cayenne?

Overpriced, bland, corporate environment. Think Azteca, only less spicy (sad but true).

A disappointing meal. We received an offer of a $50 gift certificate for $25. What a bargain we thought.

We walked into the restaurant and were promptly seated. We were impressed with the atmosphere and the decore. We looked through the drinks menu (a short list) and ordered some great sounding drinks; neither turned out to be very good. How do you screw up drinks??!!

The menu had a list of today's specials and regular house specials. We ordered an appetizer one house special (ribs) and one daily special (halibut).

The appetizer was served with dinner.

The halibut was dry.

The ribs were tasteless.

The service was indifferent.

We won't be returning.
