Acidic coffees. I went three times, each time in hope of better coffee. The baristas are nice, friendly, informative; they have a chessboard in the branch on UW campus. But the coffees.... they're too acidic for me, perhaps you may have a better experience. I'm not sure I'd like to go here, again. For less acidic coffee, I would go with Bauhaus Books&Cafe (capitol hill) or Espresso Vivace (south lake union).

a coffee house without just coffee??. i came to trabant because it was said that it was the best coffee house in seattle. i ordered a chai and it was SUPER sweet. no big deal, right? so i went to the barista and asked her to dump out half the cup and fill the other half with just plain old drip coffee. she rolled her eyes. said "we dont have JUST coffee". wow, really? but the place itself is cool. students on first dates, studying, listening to bad grunge rock. all in all, i sort of felt like i have been to many of these places before and to be the best, i was not overly impressed. it was just okay. i could have gone to (god forbid) starbucks and gotten real drip instead.

Awesome Place!. I recently visited Trabant (they were on my list of MUST DO'S while visiting Seattle). I wasn't too impressed with Seattle's coffee scene...until I reached Trabant. AMAZING espresso and awesome staff! They were more than willing to talk coffee with anyone and everyone willing to lend an open ear. I strongly recommend this coffee shop to anyone who wants to have some amazing 'spro in Seattle. They also have a Clover... (Ooo...Eeee...Ahhh!) and they make a it freaking rocks. I, for one, would muuuch rather get a fresh cup of one of many Cup of Excellence coffees they've had instead of just a "refular drip." Who wouldn't want a FRESH cup anyways??

5 Gold Stars for sure!

When I return to Seattle, this will be my first stop.

Twenty-one flavors of chai, Mexican hot chocolate and yerba mate are served up alongside open mic performances.. In Short
This alternative U-District cafe caters to an assortment of students, filmgoers (the Neptune is right next door) and coffee lovers searching for the perfect cup. Comfortable couches, tables and a loft area offer distinct spaces for working, and many patrons tote laptops and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi. The cafe's owners are dedicated to Fair Trade--they only feature beans from small-batch growers, which are then brewed on state-of-the-art Clover machines for a smooth, rich cup of drip. Frozen chai drinks are also popular.

Best Chai and WiFi. Trabant is awesome! I have never had a drink I didnt like. The Mexican Holiday Chai and Traditional are both very very good. Their coffee is also excellent- and you can read about it on the wall. The owners are very friendly, as well as the rest of the staff. Their no card buy 10 get one free system is way better than losing another card in your wallet. The people are another reason to go here- most of the regulars are always willing to share a table, especially if you have a computer. Try reading one of the community notebooks by the couches.

The place to go for coffee in Seattle. Tired of searching for a coffee shop with friendly staff, great service, and the best brew anywhere? You can stop searching - this is the place. Coffee, espresso, chai - you name it, they have the best in the city. Having sampled the wares at dozens of shops in town, this place is the winner, hands down. Best Mocha in town!

No nonsense quality coffee. This new place in the U-district has phenomenal coffee, both espresso and drip. The lattes are smooth and velvety. They have great art rotating through the place. Plenty of space for hanging out and iMac to browse on.

Delicious Coffee and Good Music. With an array of acoustic musicians and a friendly staff, this coffee shop fits in nicely among the other great venues in the University District. If your looking for a chill place to hang out, do homework or discover a new artist, you've got to go to the Trabant.
