Bake's Place-overpriced and overrated. For an establishment that has a partial paragraph on their home page (that leaves you hanging) of thoughts from the owners addressing the concern over the economy and the worries that come along with it they sure don't pass that along in their prices. In place of that they offer a getaway from your daily pocket money worries by having you line theirs instead! While you won't even find your most prominent and well respected jazz clubs in Seattle charging some of the prices found over here you might be fooled into thinking you are sitting in a magnificent structure listening to the who's who of the music world with prices sometimes soaring to $32 per person for the entertainment only! With a string of followers oozing praise and ready to plunge off the cliff giving 5 star reviews (quite curiously nothing in-between) this should be to the rest of us enough of a red flag! Don't drink the kool-aid! Snap out of it! You are really sitting in a building located in the middle of a gated retirement community run by an uptight jazz lover/wanna be singer living out his dream by featuring himself on the bill from time to time, with you as a couple quite possibly sharing a table with two other people you don't know from Adam (not to be missed is the reservation policy)! While hiding behind a thin facade of fancy words and promises of great music great food and great service the consumer will soon find that the high price is just too high to pay. Check out what's going on with the local jazz scene in the city and surrounding areas by visiting the online Earshot Jazz Calendar, Seattle Jazz or Jazzoids for excellent choices sure to surprise and delight your pocketbook, ears and pallet, before handing over a hundred bucks or more for you and your date to have a mediocre evening all held in an out of the way location in the midst of a retirement community housing development.…
just couldn't be better. absolutely fantastic food, hosts, setting, and the music! perfect venue, sound, lighting, and each and every performer is even more brilliant because of how much they appreciate this perfect locale and the warm hospitality of the owner, Craig Baker, and his family. GO! don't miss this gem.…
Amazing Place!. Bake's Place is my new all time favorite restraunt. I found out about it from my girlfriend and then I took my husband there for a show one friday night and it was amazing! Great hospitality and delicious food. i just loved it there! I'm for sure coming back!…
Good food, good prices, great music, great ambience!. Go once and you'll go back! Craig and Laura create a wonderful warm atmosphere, serve good food at fair prices, and know music. They're the antitheses of jazz club managers and that's a true compliment!…
best music venue in the area!. This is a wonderful place in an unlikely location for world class music and food. Craig and Laura Baker are always there making sure that everything is just right. Seems that there are regulars who show up time and again, giving it a family living room feel with all the details in perfect order. Will definitely be coming back!…
