lacking in service!!!!. We used to go to Jaks all the time but we will never go back again!! Last night we WAITED for our dinner to arrive at the table...it took them 45 minutes!!!! It was 10:30 at night for crying out loud ..like they were busy??NOT!!! We had to send one entree back because they didn't listen to our specifications. We got NO apology and by the time they brought it back..15 minutes later I was finished eating my dinner. By this time we were so annoyed and disgusted by the lack of their service skills we asked him to put the steak salad in a to go box. The aloof and uncaring waiter brought us our bill and he didn't even say, "SORRY for the wait" or even "Thank you". Needless to say, they have lost our business!!!

New Favorite Steak Restaurant. Service was unpretentious, atmosphere was casual, yet certainly not "pub like", and the quality of the meat and the value of the meal put Jaks well ahead of other more expensive steak restaurants I've been to. A great recommend - and well worth the wait!

Disappointed & mediocre. I used to dine quite often at the West Seattle Jak's and have been to the Laurelhurst location several times, but was quite disappointed at the quality of the food on this visit. I had the halibut special and my sister the filet mignon medallions. The food came quite quickly and it's a nice touch that the meal comes with a rather large salad (although my sister's vinaigrette dressing kind of tasted like half-rotting vegetables).

The real disappointment was my sister's filet which was quite mediocre and not particularly tasty. She ended up eating the dungeness crab off the top and leaving the steak! My seared halibut with shrimp had some spice and kick to it.

Our server, who was really attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine made an excellent recommendation for a red to go with my meal and that's why there's an extra star rating in this review. Otherwise, it'd be 2 stars.

A great steak. The food is great and the atmosphere is always lively. I make this a dining destination whenever my sister comes to visit. I have never had a problem with the service, the servers have always been polite. The only issue is that there is limited parking and you have to wait a little to be seated, but that comes with a good restaurant.

Middle of the road.. The food was decent--nothing super spectacular. I didn't have any bad experience with the service, such as the other reviewers described. But if I had to complain about anything, the seats aren't very comfortable. I thought the hostess was pretty hot, too haha.
