Love this resto. i love this restaurant, clean and not very expensive good food too
Shenanigans in Tacoma Wa.
A group of us went to this restaurant and a friend ordered oyster rockerfeller. The plate of food literally smell like poo. I told her to tell the waiter but she was too embarassed. She did eat her dinner and did not get sick thank God. I decided to write to the restaurant about our experience and got an immediate reply "thanks for letting us know, it makes us much better" and that the chef would give an answer and would be relayed to me. A week went by and NO answer. I wrote again letting the restaurant know that it has been a week with no answer.
well the exec chef wrote me back and gave me several excuses. They were all lame because i got some oysters and overcooked them in the oven and I did not replicate the offensive smell. I did also get some seweed as the chef implied burnt seaweed and i also threw some fishsauce in the oven to burn and nope...no offensive smell as experienced in the restaurant. So i say, bologna.
I did not respond back to the restaurant because what was written shows that they are all for the $$ and they don't strive for reputation, I give them a BIG FAT ZERO for reputation.
As a chef myself (and in my training, i did not have to be trained to withold food is not appealing to sight, smell and temperature). I won't ever go there again with that attitude that the restaurant has and neither will the rest of the party members. In an instant, this restaurant has just lost a revenue amount of at least $600.00 for the group of us...plus one of my doctor friends had just got done eating there and saw us and bought us a bottle of wine for the table...more revenue lost. For a good time and respectable meal we will go elsewhere.
Coconut shrimp. Ok so this is an absolutly amazing treat but I have to say that every time I go and order coconut shrimp it keeps getting smaller and smaller I mean.. Damn u pay like 9 bucks for 5 little tiny pieces of shrimp.. They are so skimpy its ridiculous.. Complete rip off!!!
worst food for the price.
i got the quezadilla and my girlfriend got the fetucine dish e was looking how in the world this plae was pack of so many ignorant people about food ,
i mean i will go only if i have to , terrible ,terrible , please go places were food is really food
nice location and nice building but bad food
Good Restaurant ? Are you Kidding me ?. Many people seem to think, only God knows why, Bahama Breeze is an upscale restaurant, I've eaten there enough times to know the food is tasteless, every single time, nothing special on the flavor, the menu seems very exotic, but its not !!! I would not consider this a romantic / upscale restaurant whatsoever.
Good food, fun atmosphere. I've been there a handful of times, and have never been disappointed with the food. The restaurant's always crowded, so expect a wait. But the atmosphere's fun, and there's a sizeable menu to satisfy everyone's tastes.
Horrible customer service, but decent food. Me boyfriend sat at the bar on a Wednesday night, and first of all, the bartender forgot to bring his beer...was too busy chatting it up with her friends who were at the bar. Also, it took way too long to get our dinners after the appetizer. The entire time we were at the bar, the bartenders friend started cussing very loudy and ruined our entire dining experience. Not once did someone tell him to be quiet or leave. I just thought the service was awful. I think management needs to get on those bartenders. Other than that, the atmosphere is nice, and the tortilla soup was pretty good, although way too salty.
Arrive Early - Good Food. Boyfriend and I went EARLY (5 pm) on a Friday to beat the rush and finally try the "talked about" restaurant at the office. Great atmosphere and good food. We splurged on the appetizer blue crab claws in butter sauce (wow... be prepared for a bowlful of melted butter and finger eating messy good). Dinner was chicken skewers and paella which were both very good. More food than an average person can eat, so split a meal or be prepared for a great doggie bag to take home. Paella has PLENTY of seafood and good flavor. The atmosphere is loud yet still feels cozy and private. Dessert was nothing special (Banana bread with ice cream and carmel sauce - lots of calories for the treadmill). This is a great restaurant for two or for a crowd, but I can tell that during rush hour not to expect amazing service. Our server was friendly and helpful and timed the meal/drinks/questions/check at the perfect moments - super job on refilling our iced tea. Bathrooms have mouthwash for after meal freshen up. We plan to return to this Carribean delight someday.
Prepare to get what you expect. My girlfriend and I just had dinner there last night (Wednesday night). They were very crowded for a weekday. The seating was prompt, hostesses were nice. Restaurant seemed clean and "Caribbean". Our server was very nice without being pretentious or fake. We started with a couple of tropical drinks and they were fine. Had Coconut Shrimp appetizer, it was cooked well and the sauce made the dish. I had the Calypso Shrimp Linguine and it was very good. The dish came with one slice of garlic bread which was not enough for the large plate of pasta I got, so requested another and server brought more at no charge. They didn't give me a pasta spoon until I asked for it then it was provided quickly. After meal thought about desserts, but all their desserts seem too sweet or chocolaty. I didn't like that they didn't give water until we asked for it. I thought a restaurant rule was if you order alcohol, water is provided at the same time. But everything we asked for we got in a timely manner, so it wasn't that bad.
Tropical retreat that marches to the beat of its own steel drum..
In Short
This restaurant flaunts bright parrot colors and a high, cabana-like ceiling. The massive island-themed deck is a magnet for Seattle's easygoing singles who sip cocktails while listening to the steel drum band or hangout on the enclosed outdoor patio. The menu features quirky Caribbean food, such as coconut shrimp, Jamaican-grilled wings and jerk chicken, and ultra-slushy drinks, including the frozen Bahamarita--kiwi, strawberry and mango ices swirled in a martini glass.
